Thats not what he got the red for. That was a yellow and he was already on a yellow for pulling down a player when he got dispossessed. If anything I feel they should increase his ban for the way he reacted like a spoilt child punching out corner flag and thing.
I know...but that should never have been a second yellow...the ball was not thrown back anywhere naer to the referee...it was a straight throw directly back to Giggs....Phil Dowd has always victimised Rooney and this is just another in a long line of bad decision against him...
And increase his ban? Players shove the workers out of the way, ala John Terry and Steven Gerrard, and in the case of the previous his red card was rescinded for what was clearly a horrible tackle, and you think this one should be extended? lol

I dont know the exact rule regarding disrespect towards referees but the whole RESPECT campaign at the start of the season has to count for something and while the ball did not hit the referee, Rooney was clearly infuriated by the ref's decision and you could see the intent in the way he threw the ball back. This is not the first time he has been disrespectful to referees especially Dowd who is one of the sterner ones in the BPL. After all if players get booked for something as simple as kicking the ball away, I dont see how what Rooney did was any less of an offense.
Which Terry red card are you talking about? I thought the one where he tackled Jo was fairly rescinded even though it was a bad challenge, it was an incorrect decision and he didn't react in the manner that Rooney did. Again i am saying I dont know the exact rules when it comes to disrespecting refs but if, in accordance with the rules, it was an incorrect decision then it is only fair that Rooney's be rescinded as well. I doubt they will appeal it though.
Anyway with Liverpool's win today and all these suspensions and injuries its 'squeeky bum' time for Fergie
It still in your hands but any more slip ups could cost dearly especially with Liverpool in this sort of form. Right now I quaking as Chelsea playing Pool in Champs League. Pressure
