I waited till today to post here so i can fully update the thread. Played Jouvert then went into carnival, played mas till 8pm Tuesday. Went to different fetes throughout the month.
I had an incident free carnival. Lots of Police scattered all over and walking through the bands. They came out in their numbers and had a assuring show of force. I left POS at 9pm and there was still police walking through the streets. Even tho there was alot of police and bands had their own security, i still stuck to my rules that has kept me safe each year when feteing and playing mas. I try to not make myself a target. Well done TTPS. The foreigners who was with us had a great time and had nutting but good reviews and promises to be a part again of the Greatest show on Earth next year with more friends. This was probably the safest carnival in years.

My first "REAL" (went out on my own, with friends to some fetes/all inclusives etc) was in'99 and NEVER have I been the victim of a crime, assault or seen someone assaulted etc.

THE MOST I have seen was in ______ (can't remember the year) when we were jumping with Harts on Mucurapo road and the muslimeen to the right threaten to PLANASS anyone who walked on their property-Other than that-Incident free :?

I always felt safe, but it's amazing that those who DON'T PLAY MAS, or even come out for carnival (i.e. those above) always feel threatened thus prefer not to venture out
