after 2012 the calandar will re-set itself to the beginning....the Mayan calendar lasts for a period of time then starts over...no real evidence to say any cataclysmic action will happen...just the re-setting ofd the calender...I hope!

The Puma Punku ruins in Bolivia are dated 17,000 years ago (think that's where Transformers ROTF got that date) yet there are slabs of granite that have been "machined" to a glass-like finish...
