if you are HIT by one of these UN-INSURED government vehicles- WHo will be responsible for the damage?
Does the STATE pay , and how does one go about taking a legal stance in this suitation?
exactly. About 10 years ago some cases of beer fell from a Carib truck onto come cars in the cargo bay of the Tobago Ferry. About 4 years ago i spoke to a friend who's car had been damaged to the point of being written off.
According to him, Carib didnt want to pay because they blamed the Port Authority for letting an over packed truck on the boat and the Port Authority refused to pay because they claimed their personel were unqualified to determine when a Carib Truck is overstocked and the items which damaged the cars were not the property of the Port Authority.
That went on for 3 years before he got some relief. In the mean time he had to pay off a car he no longer had. He eventually got back SOME of the money, but nothing close to what he paid out. Not to mention the inconveniences incurred.
So.. now imagine what it would be like dealing with the PM and others..
