For some of the big brains in here who dislike reading and understanding its probably important to state its predominantly not cash.
For the US it's mostly equipment and in alot of cases its surplus or no longer used stock. Almost all the spend happens in the US benefiting US manufacturing. Up to Oct 31st 2023 only 6% of the US's total Ukraine aid would have been money to purchase weapons and equipment.

Granted it started much earlier with the green men and seizure of Crimea.
So much wasted men, money, material and good will. Russia who only hosted the WC in 2018 and Olympics in 2014 now a pariah to the West.

For now, this can go either way for Russia and depending on who wins the US election.
I'll be honest, as despicable as Russia has been, the west needs to give them an opportunity to make things right.
If we (collective west) pushes Russia further away that only increases their motivation to arm up and militarise......I mean have we learnt nothing from WW2.
Pushing Russia towards alignment with China only means that when China lashes out to control the Pacific, then an emboldened Russia can try for the Baltics or even Poland.
There is a legit argument that Russia will do this anyway so the west should try to help Ukraine win....... however, that's not going well is it?
And Ukrainians are eventually going to grow frustrated and blame the west for using them.
Every NATO country is an independent nation with its own agency. Russia doesn't get to dictate whether Poland, Estonia or Latvia join NATO. They all did it on their own accord.Dohplaydat wrote:The USA will struggle to maintain the world order they created after WW2....and let's be honest, NATO and the US have really encroached on China and Russia.
It didn't have to be this way, but I understand why they did it. However, the rise of Asia means they probably won't be able to dominate and isolationism might be the best bet for world peace.

Go back further to Neanderthal and cro magnon days... U will see revelations.adnj wrote:Of course Arabs are "indigenous" to the Middle Eastern lands.
The first people who called themselves Arabs were the elite of the early Caliphate. They inhabited new towns founded by Muslims across the Middle East.
Arabs date back to the 7th century CE. Jews didn't even leave Egypt until the 13th century BCE, during the time of Ramses II. That was only 2000 years earlier. Wait... what?
Well, Arabs cleared the land and got some goats, so now they have squatters' rights. Rubber slipper Trinis have to respect that.
