Was looking forward to a quad core seeing that bb ain't that good at handling tasks but 2GB ram would be a big help.

Re: RIM / BlackBerry Thread

Postby Dion76 » January 15th, 2013, 8:12 pm

fellas, hear my problem, dunno wa u all would recommend.

i have a blackberry bold 9900, recently the phone just started doing what it wants, the screen would automatically select on its own, ringtones would change from custom to stock and when i do a battery pull it would go back to normal, if am in the progress of updating my bbm stat while typing it would automatically save and come back out to the menu screen, while using the phone the touch screen may stop working but if i lock the phone and unlock it they screen starts back to work, same thing with the keypad, at first i thought it could be software but i did a complete wipe and installed a new os 7.1.0.794 (2218) and well same thing happening, any suggestions?

i already thinking its time to change devices but i was trying to hold out till February when the new ones are out but this is really frustrating now

I would downgrade that bundle..
Bundles from 2108 and up seem to be full of kaka and will mess up your phone.
Well I was one of the unlucky ones it happened to, before my phoen turned into an expensive white paperweight (BB9900).. I upgraded to .2108 and my phone was never the same after that. Removed all my stock ringtones and wallpaper pics.

Just my $0.02

It's also rumoured to have twice the ram, a faster processor, higher resolution display and a better camera than the 9900...

Not a fan boy, just sayin.

Very nice actually. Somehow even as a Blackberry owner for so long, I still don't like their cameras all that much  Maybe this one can change my mind :)

My dad's 9810 refuses to stream YouTube videos over wifi (multiple networks tried on), but streams fine on 3G. Anyone have an idea why?

Yup, wiped with BBSak and loaded the latest 7.1 bundle onto it. It was on 7.0 before. I made the stupid mistake of restoring settings before testing though, so I dunno if I left it without restoring if it would've made a difference.

The final Z10 has a sort of textured rubber mesh back piece, feels nice, no slipping out of your fingers

My device is the dev alpha, not the final hardware design. I was able to play with the final hardware for about 5hrs in december 2012 but wasnt allowed to take pictures though.
