i bought this bluray player but i now realise i should have gotten one with wifi!
it works pretty decent though

whats ur thoughts on doing a DIY sub build?
i was thinking about getting the Crown XLS1000 which is only 300USD and isnt heavy to bring back in a suitcase and combine them with a decent subwoofer that i'll get locally

^ there are a lot of people who do this and if you know what you are doing it would be exactly suited for your setup and space.

But I would buy a Sunfire, Def Tech or Velodyne sub before I'd try to build one to match their performance

If you know what you doing, Idk anything about building subs so I'll just buy one. The Yamahas look to be good quality speakers

looking to use a JL audio 15" or maybe Image dynamics 12"
both work in sealed enclosures and handle subsonics really impressive

for the speakers, the only thing within the budget is the klipsch quintet 5.0 without the sub since pretty much everything will be coming via suitcase

this was the bluray player i bought

Those speakers will not blend effectively with such a large sub, unless you have it playing well into the 120Hz range. Which it MAY not handle so well.

thats true and if i run the sub that high it would probably pull the stage to where its located and may also be a bit boomy above 80hz

what u all suggest?.. pair of smaller subs?...maybe 8" or
1- 10"?

This might be a little old school for you guys but see if you can lend assistance:

I recently ditched my Flow cable subscription and I'm reliant on content for my 40" LED from my Apple TV. However when I want to watch local content I resort to an antenna. I tried some HDTV rabbit earsand then the most expensive one I can find, but I still getting poor quality reception. What can I do to improve it other than sticking a big ugly antenna on my roof?

yeh i check more amazon reviews and just random google reviews

only prob 1 person rated 1 star was he found it took long to start up and some other nonsense that where it didn't deserve a 1 star but 99% reviews thus far was 4.5-5 star ratings
also there is a update for the tv (thats if they didn't update it yet) out to fix the 20-30 sec start time (which dont really bother me really.. i watched it side by side literally with a new model Samsung and the same video input .. Toshiba was day and night difference with the colours and deepness of the darks.
cost is $14,995 or something basically $15,000
