honestly out of the phones i posted above, the torch seems to be one of the top choices.
i like the size of the phone, dont like the slider cuz its likely to get damage but im not a heavy blackberry user so i was thinking about it.

the interface seems a bit weird tho

Out of all the bb I ever owned, the torch freezes the most. The screen doesn't lock when you're on a call so you dial random persons at times.
The battery life ain't that great either.
Parts are not easily changeable so if your screen shatters, you might as well buy a new phone.

But why does the screen have to lock? That's what the proximity sensor is there for. Once the sensor is active it wont respond to touch :|

Steve Jobs was going to scrap the iPhone before it was ever launched because of the proximity sensor wasn't up to snuff. RIM is like, "that'll do". I can't tell you how many times I've been called by my friend with a Torch while talking to him on the phone.

Well then it's a sensor issue, all you have to do is press the lock button while on call and you're A-ok.

Easy solution :)

I'd avoid the 9810 because people often complain that the flex cable wears out quickly.

I'd also avoid the 9900 because of the red light problem. It strikes at any time and when it does, the phone becomes useless.

I'd go with the Bold 9790. Touch screen, almost identical specs to the 9900. But I've never heard of the red light problem with this model. It's slightly cheaper too.

Don't jump down my throat if I'm wrong. :agrue: Just trying to be of assistance..

Which reminds me, I'm selling my 9930 for parts. Whoever wants it, PM. Might throw in a case as well.

This is how the Nokia fans stuck with Symbian must have felt for so long.

S60 phones were still awesome. It was the APPS that made people stick around so long. They key to a good product in this day and age is the ecosystem. Otherwise your smart phone behaves like a dumb phone.
