81 kmph... But I swear it was only once when the highway was clear in the middle of the night and I had not been drinking for a year before I tried that. And I only did it for like a second to see if the car was capable of reaching those speeds.

a gutted basic elantra ie. no head liner, seats, door panels and trunk mats, removed spare tyre and tools could achieve 265kmph on 5th gear. You need Sailun tyres on 18" RT rims and remove the side mirrors to reduce drag. We also removed the A/C system to save a few lbs too.
