Obviously in a country where 95% of 60 year olds are vaccinated will have the majority of deaths being vaccinated persons.

What you need to look at is the rate of deaths in each cohort. And the rate in the vaccinated is significantly lower.

I am familiar with this study. There are two metrics: protection from infection (VE-I) and protection from death (VE-D). These numbers are very much in line with published vaccine efficacy results that I posted August 9.

From the study:

From February to October 2021, VE-I declined from 87.9% to 48.1%, and the decline was greatest for the Janssen vaccine resulting in a VE-I of 13.1%. Although breakthrough infection increased risk of death, vaccination remained protective against death in persons who became infected during the Delta surge.

From July to October 2021, VE-D for age 65 years was

73.0% for Janssen,

81.5% for Moderna, and

84.3% for Pfizer-BioNTech;

VE-D for age ≥65 years was

52.2% for Janssen,

75.5% for Moderna, and

70.1% for Pfizer-BioNTech.

Findings support continued efforts to increase vaccination, booster campaigns, and multiple, additional layers of protection against infection.

i just received word from a friend that her cousin's wife died at home from covid. she was unvaxxed and sick for a week. was told both people didnt take the vaccine because they were of the strong belief it would kill them... i hope the husband changes his mind.

Thing about the numbers is the cases go up quite easily but to bring it down takes months after a HARD breaking force is applied.
If we lock down now( which I not condoning) we will see a decrease most likely next year February.

If we don't lockdown or for the very least Rollback....then those numbers will skyrocket to when we were making 500 and 600 a day.When Jamaica was dealing with delta they had no movement days in addition to daylight curfew, imagine Sunday you have to be inside by 3pm, we on the other hand want to pretend everything normal and leave it as the unvaccinated problem
