Possibly why our services like google can experience issues as they're locally cached... :(

hmm my account still not activated. hmm I rebooted and reset etc.

Seeing that the contractor already installed my flow connection would I still be able to get a refund of my $250 which I paid for installation? or is it too late?

Considering it is a case of my account was never activated would I be able to apply for a refund? I am doubting they will be able to activate my account this week. It may take weeks or months to happen, and I am supposed to disconnect TSTT Friday.

If I disconnect TSTT this friday coming and FLow internet not working then I in the dark. I will have to keep TSTT and pay another $180 for no reason. So I would rather disconnect flow and get my money back.

How do I disconnect Flow's service? do I have to go in person or can I do it over the phone?
Also seeing Saturday is a holiday will that affect flow office hours on Friday?

And any chance of a refund since I never received any service? and the account was not activated? I doubting it since they done connect the lines but still wanna know if its worth a try. If I can get a refund I will go today and ask for it asap.

Question concerning the volcano and the damage to the fibre optic cables, how bad is the effect of that on the Flow side? Know it's bad on the Blink side reading all the comments on their Facebook page and Twitter.

^ I wish I could tell you boy, I have a useless flow connection that not even activated.

One assumes flow is not affected to any great extent since they are connected to the ARCOS Ring.

LOL please don't.

I waiting since yesterday lunch time to get them to activate my account. Contacting their technicians only work at certain hours if you get lucky else you have to wait hours for them to answer your call and its money down the drain for no reason.

I resorted to using social media etc letter tied to bird feet and letter in a bottle that I threw down the caroni river to contact them and finally I got a response and they claim someone will contact me in 24 hours lol. Mind you I done wait 24 hours, and this was after they said it will only take 1 hour eh padner.

So we heading into 48 hours, and I have to make a decision who to disconnect Friday as I would be paying for an extra month of useless TSTT for $180 for no reason. And if FLOW not activated by early Friday morning then I would have no choice but to disconnect flow and most likely lose $250 connection fee because the contractor already run the cable in my house.

So basically by applying for flow I LOST $250 and got no service.

Do you seriously want to apply to this company? I am not even talking about an issue with speed or downtime or anything like that eh padner I tolerant of those things far more than other people. I am talking about these people refusing to activate my account from their office. Right here in Trinidad which takes them little to no time to do. And mind you I am a first time flow customer so just let that sink in for a second.

I know, lol. Heard the horror stories from Flow Customer Service or lack thereof, but after a while, & it's been a while I've been thinking of doing this switchover, you have to bite the bullet...hard in this case.

Not to say Blink that much better, if at all. During this whole volcano nonsense their Twitter feed is nothing but canned responses to go to their Facebook page where you can't do anything either, except read more complaints about the issue, lack of updates concerning it, etc.

I believe they do background credit checks on new customers so this might be the reason for the delay in your account activation. If it isn't activated by today i would got bright and early to their office to get it sorted out in person.

Who knew this is what 2012 felt like

The most interesting thing is even on a 10Mbps DSL from TSTT you still stream at 144p.

I only ever took 10Mb from TSTT for 1 month in my life and cost something around $700 if I remember correct. And for that entire month it could not stream even 720p. Even 480p buffered but strangely you could torrent at full speed.

I would switch to flow if I were you it takes a while to activate but well worth it.
Yes you may almost certainly have to demand jostiss and all sorts of assness but thanks to their excellent PR damage control once you spam their facebook page, they contact you and its sorted out quickly.

1080p streams so fast by the time the video reach halfway or less the entire video done stream out, but to me the real cream of the crop is sub 60ms pings to USA. It potentially solves issues in poor netcode in games like Mortal Kombat X that needs a legendary internet connection

currently downloading at 1.8MB/S on steam

That is infact 15Mb/s (common b for bits capital B for bytes)

What benefits does this 'new' service have over the previous HD lineup I got a couple months ago with the new smaller HD boxes?

Yours is the one with the new channel numbers? As in CNC3 is now 103 etc... i put "new" because AFAIK its not so new but they're calling it new.

Nah I seem to have the regular channel configuration. When I upgraded to HD in December the technician who swapped the boxes out told me that these were the new boxes and new features would be rolling out soon.

I was told by a tech those are older boxes they trying to get rid off. Any issues with the older ones and they changing it to that one. Also that box is slow as hell.

Just called should get a call back tomorrow, they're just going to love rewiring in my house if that's the case according to the thread you posted..(sarcasm)

With regards to the modem tho, can you still use your wireless router and disable the modems built in wifi?

Can't get the service right now as the Advanced VS system only supports up to four boxes, and I have 5, they need additional equipment for 5+ boxes which they haven't received yet according to the representative.

and I'm using my own router for wireless network access and disabled the modem's wireless network. the flow router has a dhcp also that gives 192.168.0.x addresses. Just plug and play a wireless router basically and reboot and it works.

Is there any lag associated with the new cable guide UI?
