even the older 2008 and 2009 plasmas are better quality than todays LED.

sure beats trying to set up a 5.1 or 7.1 system yourself and despite what audiophiles equipped with expensive DB testors and oscilloscopes will tell you - the auto calibration is of great help for most home theater / TV room setups.
trust me, you move a couch in the room or add a chair or rug or change your curtains and the acoustics change - the MCACC comes in handy for a quick auto recalibrate.
