XBMC Eden officially steps out of beta, available for download now

Image

Been snacking on popcorn with the beta build of XBMC 11.0 Eden since it got released last December? If, you'll be pleased know that the full-on release version is now officially available for download. In case you don't recall, this latest build of the media center house many new features, not limited to Addon Rollbacks (in case you hate their new builds), a plethora of speed-improvements, official "in- sync support" for iOS devices, AirPlay functionality and UI tweaks. There's also good news for Ubuntu users, as XBMCbuntu Final has been officially announced as the successor to XBMC Live. Excuse the pun, but if you're ready to taste the fruit now that it's ripe, you'll find the full details for both and the download link for Eden at the source link below.

the new Apple TV looks good but no Hulu.

i have an XBOX 360 lying around that i thought i could use but then realized i would need a gold XBL subscription just to access Netflix :S

Anyone can recommend something of quality for less than $10k in the 46" to 50" range?

Currently looking at the Sony Bravia 46" available at Courts but they're asking for $3,000 more to get an additional 2 years (3 years in total) warranty.

I also saw Raptors sale of the reputable Samsungs but from what I see they're >$10k

look at Samsung Plasma

even the older 2008 and 2009 plasmas are better quality than todays LED.

Thanks, was just reading up on some issues the 2011 Plasma's had concerning the anti-reflection cover peeling and popping of brightness in movie scenes.

Didn't see it mentioned anywhere else... Amazon video is now available on PS3.

The content isn't all that, but it's decent enough. And if you already have Amazon Prime and a PS3, might as well take advantage of it, plus the PS3 app is free to download.

It's working fine with me.

^ it's a great deal - but I'd put out the lil extra and get one with a Auto Calibration Microphone. Pionner calls it MCACC

sure beats trying to set up a 5.1 or 7.1 system yourself and despite what audiophiles equipped with expensive DB testors and oscilloscopes will tell you - the auto calibration is of great help for most home theater / TV room setups.

trust me, you move a couch in the room or add a chair or rug or change your curtains and the acoustics change - the MCACC comes in handy for a quick auto recalibrate.

The Audyssey on my denon made a massive difference for me. Although i find it leaves the center channel a bit weak, i had to manually raise the gain on that. Have a friend with a higher model denon that had the same experience.
Anybody experience similar results with the pioneer EQ?
