u wud hve tb by yrslf, due to the fact that it would hve been considered a dangerous tactic if others were alongside, right behind or attempting to come up into a potential passing line.

also, if u were to do that, by the time u straightened up, u wud hve been passed by everyone else who adopted the regulation 'brake-apex-point-accelerate' manoeuvre.

but it still is a legal move if yr clearly alone at that
point

Not sure about the legality but I think the chief marshall might have something to say about it. Power sliding or drifting is not the fastest way around the corner and upon exit from the corner you tires would be spinning which does not allow the fastest acceleration away from the corner. Power sliding will also overheat and blister the tires. In a long race you will use up the tires well before the end of the race
