Says alot about our Healthcare system and our average health as a whole, lifestyle changes required.

A more demonstrable reason is likely the population distributions in the two countries. Trinidad has more middle-aged and older while Jamaica has more young and very young.redmanjp wrote:Carbon12 wrote:Duane 3NE 2NR wrote:Jamaica's population is TWICE that of T&T and our 28 day total deaths is higher than theirs

its more likely due to almost twice the no. of cases per capita.

This is the very reason countries like Spain and Italy and most of Europe were hit harder than South Africa and most African countries.
Where was that said? And by whom? Find a post and paste the link and you will have my sincere apologies, if I posted it.drchaos wrote:adnj wrote:A more demonstrable reason is likely the population distributions in the two countries. Because that would have been a dumbass thing to say -- how much is a drove anyway?
What WAS said is that perfectly healthy people can ALSO be susceptible to a virus that has evolved to evade the human immune system.
It is the overexcitation of the immune system that creates circumstances that can lead to death.
What was ALSO said is that the some variants of the virus have adapted to be MORE dangerous for children, as evidenced by the increased percentages of children in ICU beds.

Your post makes no sense … if perfectly healthy people are at risk and the virus can evade the immune system absolutely then why are so many people alive post infection you noob?
Health of the host does play a significant role in your chance of survival and avoiding severe disease.

It's not it's what we should have done, be proactive and keep it in check.
However, I do feel if it's the delta variant there's not much NZ can do to stop it other than just slowing it down.

The three detected Delta variant cases were all returning nationals. No community spread has been detected -- yet.hover11 wrote:Na we wait till it hits the fan and becomes community spread ...always reactive never proactiveaaron17 wrote:3 deltas in tnt...no budge...
