I'm with Tropical Express at the moment

....I used IBC, Aeropost and Websource.....never had bad service or experience, just Tropical's price is ridiculously cheaper than these. lol

Behold, I have an explanation.

1. Bluesky, Websources, Aeropost, etc, do not operate their own aircraft. The actual shipping is provided by air cargo companies like AmeriJet, who own and operate real aircraft.

2. Amerijet is a USA-based air cargo carrier and deals in US dollars.

Prior to the 2017/2018 budget, they did accept TT dollar payments (albeit at a higher exchange rate). This has since stopped, and they no longer accept "Trinidad & Tobago dollars" in any way, shape or form.

:drinking:

3. The local skybox companies (bluesky, websources, etc), have to go to the bank and beg for US dollars. The banks give them less than they need to keep the present flight schedule.

The skybox company has to cut back on shipments, so what was once one-a-day air cargo flights from Miami, is now once-every-other-day air cargo flight from Miami.

Love the name "paid_influencer".

But yes, you do have the facts. All local skybox companies use Caribbean Airlines and Amerijet. Since we can't get enough USD from the banks to pay Amerijet, we now have to share Caribbean who flies only 3 days a week. Some of the smaller companies can still use Amerijet simply because their shipments are smaller i.e. the US they can purchase from the banks is enough to cover their bill, However that's a double-edged sword because as their shipment increase, they too will eventually have the same problem.

From next week especially when the Black Friday sale items start arriving at the various Miami warehouses, those CAL flights will begin to buckle. Everyone will have delays because not everyone's cargo can fit on the same flight. Web Source will have delays due to flight congestion. CAL will have delays when they have to pull planes out of the rotation for maintenance.

This is just another casualty of the forex issues we're all facing.

Amerijet is the place next to swissport and the old airport.
They are air-cargo transporters.

5 day average. Less if you collect. Delivery guy says packages gone up to almost 100 daily for his route (central) from 30-40 last month.

First time I actually went in to Web Source to collect a package yesterday and wow, I was impressed. Was in and out of there in under 5 minutes and the place was so huge and well laid out compared to the offices of other skybox companies I've been to.

Thought I was in a different dimension yes. Never experienced service like that before in Trinidad. Great job Web Source!

About a week, best to switch to pick up. That being said things have slowed down a lot. I have packages that left Miami on the 21st and it still havent cleared yet. On the other hand packages that left Miami on the 24th will be ready to pickup tomorrow. When black friday weekend packages start coming in that place will be a mess lol

Got delay notification from Aeropost as well on Tuesday. Cleared and will be delivered today.

Black Friday mess start. Stuff delivered to Miami Monday didn't even show up on their website until yesterday. Nothing unexpected though. A few days extra this time of year is normal.
