July 30, 2021 -- Infection from COVID-19 may have a substantial negative effect on intelligence, according to a new large-scale study from the United Kingdom, findings that are consistent with reports of “brain fog” among long-haul COVID-19 patients.
Researchers analyzed data from 81,337 people who took the Great British Intelligence Test in 2020. Of those, about 13,000 reported they had contracted COVID-19, and 275 of those had completed the test before and after infection.
Those who had previously had the coronavirus found it harder to complete tasks related to reasoning, problem-solving, and spatial planning, the authors said. Researchers controlled for age, education, and overall mood.
“These results accord with reports of long-COVID, where ‘brain fog,’ trouble concentrating, and difficulty finding the correct words are common,” the authors wrote. “Recovery from COVID-19 infection may be associated with particularly pronounced problems in aspects of higher cognitive or ‘executive’ function.”

Which hospital are they testing every patient for COVID before admissions except the private hospitals though ? If you have no symptoms for covid coming in for trauma with a brake foot or chest pains in a diabetic hypertensive patient . The viral pathway or ‘ tent ‘ is symptomatic and questionable cases to rule out COVID

covid WILL be just like the flu or the cold, it will mutate all the time, and they will ahve to make boosters to anticipate the variants that might pop up in scocieties, EVERY YEAR... and it will eventually become just and uneventful.
the 40 or so deaths a year from the flu are not news. acceptable.
covid is just very new, to its impacting a lot right now.
pugboy wrote:except it has a higher contagiousness/r0 and death rate compared to the flu, so it is not “just another like flu”
afaik flu isn’t as damaging to persons with comorbidities
is there any other ailment with such high death rate for persons with the listed comorbidities?sMASH wrote:aaron17 wrote:It is inevitable...

The longer it goes on the better for you. I had a friend who fought a case of wrongful dismissal (for a job paying just shy of 6k a month) for 2-3 years and when the settlement reach he got between 200k - 220k and the employer had to pay his legal fees. That must be the easiest money he ever made in life.
So, three years of waiting with a payout at the end?elec2020 wrote:adnj wrote:How much cash does it take to live in granny's back room until that case gets settled? How much up front to file and for the lawyer?sMASH wrote:shake d livin wake d dead wrote:Slowly but surely...
