Ordered an item recently, I've attached my invoice and I wish to point out the Exchange rate being used of TT$ 6.80: 1 USD... that's ridiculous!

Furthermore, I paid via credit card on their site and much to my dismay, the sole currency of the transaction was USD!

Force the use of a currency from another country, then apply your own exchange rate?

If you paid via CC on their website in USD, then the exchange rate will actually depend on your issuing bank.

Hi Guys!! I am doing my final year Practicum Project and need your assistance in filling out this survey as part of our research.

The survey is based on Online Shopping/Local Courier Services in Trinidad and should take about 5-10 minutes to complete.

Thank You!

Done your survey because it for your education.
You have bits screwed up in there. If you choose other , it asking you to still select one of the check box.
Is that red Xpress a real shipping company or is it a fake you created for your research? Thats the most expensive rates I've seen and it cannot be competitive. You should have researched better before creating those fake rates, look there is a company in the announcement section , look at their rates and this includes delivery to your home.
Your customs and duty section is incorrect also. I know is a school project but you all need to put more effort in your project.
You should review some of your Questions as it does not make sense. Skybox is already an express service- why should i pay more. Other service offer free shipping to your home.
Any how good luck with your project.

Any current users of Seabox and Blue Sky (sea freight side)?

Reviews and Preference?

Need to ship something <100lbs and don't need the hassle of clearing myself. Mainly interested in timeframe and tracking. Both seem to have similar price based on their calculators.

^^^ Me too. I stop purchasing online as well as locally.
Things just get too expensive, so I stop wasting my money. I only buy food, gas, and internet.

Ohho.. lol silly I forget to put that.

Weight was 10 pounds. And yes it take a while. About 2-3 weeks from delivery in florida to be ready for pickup in trinidad. They have local delivery to your door but I didn't have time for that lol. They deliver east trinidad one day, west next day.. etc etc

And yes...

0 opt was charged...

Signed up with SeaBox just over a year ago. Delivery time from Mia was initially 2 weeks but now more like 3 weeks is the norm. They use the Magaya tracking software but don't update it often. So sometimes it takes a couple days to notify you that a package was received. They hardly ever update it from there so you don't know if it's left for TT and when it arrives. They ship on Fridays but your package must be delivered by Wednesday evening to make that shipment. There were a couple instances recently where a few days after, they sent out notices saying that the shipment didn't leave port, so they were delayed a week further.

Also, like bluesclues said, they deliver to south one day for the week, east another day, etc which is part of the delay and can be quite frustrating. Since I signed up with them, I've used my traditional skybox less as the rates were cheaper and no OPT. SeaBox raised their rates last month though. I've recently found myself using skyboxes again for very small items as the wait is not worth it for those with almost the same cost. There was also a peak service charge from October last year to January which I wasn't expecting. Like all businesses in TT, they started off great but seems to have dropped off a bit.

I've considered Blue Sky but there's a minimum of 15lbs for sea freight. Might work out better for you though. Hope this helps.

Not all businesses. Websource never dropped off. They deserve an award for consistent efficiency and customer service of all the businesses in trinidad. Total 1st class 1st world level.

The sauce may be goodish NOW but they were a real waste back in their earlier days.

At least they have worked to improve and kept it up since then.

Correct. They've made a great comeback now compared to what their service was like 3-4 years ago.

My biggest problem i get with them is that when i get the "package received" email, it always indicates that the package will reach the day after my courier runs his delivery, so i always either have to wait for the next delivery or collect it at the office if i need it urgent.
But thats more of a personal/bad luck issue.
And of course...the infamous USPS "delivered" problem

I disagree. I shipped with websource when they just launched in a lil cubby hole. And since then they had hit a higher mark than everyone else. It just went higher. Now theres noone that beats them imo. I have never experienced that kind of service with ANY company in this country. NONE.

Apparently the six courier companies that were challenging the OPT tax have dropped the lawsuit.
Probably they realise that it easier to have an ocean freight option instead. I see csr bring it back.
Let's hope the OPT ain't raise again this year...

Most likely skybox users suck up the 7% as some items are still cheaper to bring in. Sky box company then saw an increase from the drop in shipments and decided it was enough to make a living. Some switched to sea freight so the service is still there and just no 7% for the government.
Anyone can recommend a sea freight company. Want to try one out.

Been using seabox occasionally
Their shipping is a bit spotty, they claim they ship every week but I doubt that
I suspect if they don't have a full container load they wait until the next week.
