It was during a friendly match played in August 2009, which the Whites won 0-5 and in which Higuaín also got his name on the score sheet

Real Madrid return to Borussia Dortmund after a three-year absence. The last time that the Whites played at the home ground of the German team was in a pre-season friendly game to celebrate the centenary of the club from Dortmund. In a 0-5 thrashing, Kaká opened his goal scoring account as a Real Madrid player. Since that time, the Brazilian has scored 24 official goals as a Whites’ player.
On 19 August 2009, Real Madrid visited the Signal Iduna Park to mark the centenary of Borussia Dortmund. The team then managed by Pellegrini ran out 0-5 winners, in a game which represents the last meeting between the two teams. In the 76th minute, Kaká beat the German goalkeeper by converting from the penalty spot and that was his first goal as a Real Madrid player. Three minutes earlier, Higuaín had made the score 0-3.
