You all do realize life has been pretty much nor al in the UK for months.....the restrictions they lift Monday are basically to go fully back to normal.

People are getting delta a lot but almost no one is getting it bad due to vaccination.

I don't think UK will revert back to strict measures, they seem to have an attitude of Covid done, time to move on.

Key Points From the Press Conference Hosted by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley – Saturday 17th July 2021


- Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, stated that vaccines will be available from next week at all 109 health centers for persons over 18 who are not pregnant or immunocompromised. The Minister gave his assurance that anyone who wants to be vaccinated should have reasonable access to a vaccine.

- The Minister of Health, announced that 3 Mass Vaccination Sites will be introduced from next week at NAPA, Penal Powergen Station and the Couva Point Lisas Chamber. The Minister also announced that vaccines will be made available to private hospitals who have agreed to administer them to staff and patients, free of charge.

- Minister Deyalsingh shared that at this time, 18% of T&T’s population have received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 11% of the population have received both doses.

- Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley indicated that Government hopes to receive Pfizer vaccines from the United States in August and use them to vaccinate Secondary School students in time for the reopening of the school term. The Prime Minister explained that Pfizer is the only vaccine approved by the WHO for use in children 12 years and older.

- The Prime Minister gave the assurance that vaccination in T&T remains voluntary and the matter of making it mandatory is not before the cabinet.

- Prime Minister Rowley reminded the population that even though food services are set to resume on Monday, there is to be NO in-house dining or consumption on site.

- Principal Medical Officer of Institutions, Dr. Maryam Abdool-Richards provided an update on the Parallel Health Care System and stated that total occupancy stands at 37% with Ward occupancy at 37%, ICU occupancy at 72% and HDU occupancy at 41% .

I am disappointed, was expecting more things to open up and far less restrictions on the food industry. We're doing fine with the daily cases compared to the past few months.

Not enough emphasis is placed on the continued irresponsibility of Trinis.

We cannot open up and everyone goes into relax mode.


KFC by itself is a distraction.
