Just saw a live NASA feed of Harvey, looks beautiful. Hard to imagine that it's so dangerous on the ground level judging by just it's appearance from above.

It's like the cleanest white I ever saw, beautiful and smooth from its eye to its edges

here is a link for people who to lazy to look

What I saw was full colour. Just saying, that's no where near as beautiful as the original live stream

Photos: The Aftermath of Hurricane Harvey
ALAN TAYLOR 11:11 AM ET 34 PHOTOS IN FOCUS
Hurricane Harvey, the first major hurricane to make landfall in the United States in more than a decade, made landfall on the Texas coast late Friday, as a Category 4 storm, destroying homes, overturning vehicles and sinking boats, severing power lines and forcing tens of thousands of residents to flee. As Harvey, now downgraded to a tropical storm, lingers over Texas, record amounts of rain are predicted, which could spawn even more destruction in the form of catastrophic flooding.

This is a clear demonstration how warm the Gulf of Mexico waters were for the system to gather all that energy in those 2 or 3 days to become a Cat 4 Hurricane... that still hasn't dissipated after being over land for 2 days.

Looking at these pictures, it's really quite frightening to think that we really not ready for anything like that far less a little tropical storm...

^ dats why i say d eclipse was a bad omen. Harvey aint no normal hurricane, a normal one would do damage and leave in a few hours
This one did catastrophic damage, stuck around to do more via rain, going out to sea to regain strength to come back with even more damage and potentially a lot of deaths

Eclipse omen? Do you really serious believe that?

Or maybe it's just the effects of global warming, and a warmer Gulf of Mexico energy reserve for the storm to draw power from.
I expect that the effects and destruction of Harvey will be rivaling or greater than those of 2005 Katrina in the end. And in the next hundred years there will be an increase of such storms.

Yeah i figured. I'm not saying all eclipses are signs nor am i saying it caused the hurricane (that would be astrology)

But it CAN be a sign of events to come. The last total eclipse that crossed the US almost the same way was in 1918. That year the Spanish Flu killed half a million people in the US.

i read that they are usually prepared for a 1 in a 100 year disaster/storm event

this hurricane was a 1 in 800 year event

by tmr they say 51 feet high water could break their levees

Know a couple of people who are stuck in Houston right now, and the airports saying they closed till Thursday as of now until further notice. One friend missed a chance home the Saturday because of a delayed flight in Chicago. :|

'Whole city' now underwater as Harvey makes another landfall

(CNN)While countless Houstonians are still waiting for rescue, Tropical Storm Harvey has now swallowed another Texas city.

"Our whole city is underwater right now but we are coming!" Port Arthur Mayor Derrick Freeman posted Wednesday morning on Facebook. "If you called, we are coming. Please get to higher ground if you can, but please try stay out of attics."
Port Arthur -- about 90 miles east of the devastated Houston area -- is so deluged that floodwater has overwhelmed an evacuation center. Murky brown water nearly reached the top of cots at the shelter.

Heads up. Irma has formed towards the East and projected to become a hurricane before affecting the Windward or Leeward Islands
