The process is easy, sign up on sbtjapan, tradecarview, or ramadbk, then choose your vehicle, receive the vehicle invoice, make payment in bank, after 50% confirmed payment is made vehicle will be shipped, approx 35 days on the boat to trindad, apply for import lisence now, contact sharon 6821091, she will clear the vehicle in the port also, after a 100% payment they website sales rep will send vehicle original docs, needed for clearing vehicle and licensing, after u get vehicle is just to have the vehicle inspected by vmcott on pos and then u license, and u OTR

That new Honda accord is very different from the one that has been around for more than 5 years. Totally different drive train and radical new way of setting up the engine and electric motors.

Yes. Updated software too with smoother transition from engine to electric motor.

Also in the 2017 the battery pack is a little smaller so just a bit more trunk space available.

Been watching reviews on YouTube for a bit.

Question:

For you guys that are importing your own vehicles, how do you pay?
Can you just use a credit card or do you need to source US$?

Me top.heard US realhard to get if you trying to bring car yourself to maximise savings. The dealers seem to have seized and opportunity to increase their markup on hybrid vehicles

Been hearing some talk in customs that government gonna implement a turbo tax in the upcoming mid year reviews. Around 20-25%.
So all those euros including the hybrids gonna be affected.
Not sure which displacements they want to target.
Meanwhile all over the world, all manufacturers are moving towards smaller displacement engines for sake of efficiency.

Even though I don't like it increased taxation on new vehicles should make it harder for people to clog the roads with more cars and reduce the money the government spends on the keeping fuel at its current low price. Everyone should be taking advantage of this hybrid/electric/CNG tax break.

Importing a hybrid vehicle in Trinidad

Postby scotty_buttons » April 30th, 2017, 9:26 am

I get the impression that this 'turbo tax' is to close the loophole for those euro hybrids that are turbocharged. Too much middle class people buying Mercs, Audis and BMWs apparently?

Tax breaks for hybrids and electrics is great; but then putting tax on turbocharged vehicles is counterintuitive.
Unless they somehow limit the turbo tax to ONLY conventional petrol and diesel vehicles, then it's obvious what their intentions are.

I could understand taxing larger displacement engines eh but this turbo tax doesn't make any sense.

Next they might wanna tax vehicles over a certain horsepower.

When you say new vehicles are you talking about acquiring a vehicle in general.... Cause used vehicles will still be imported and registered and will still clog roads with more cars

FU dealers will just bring in more lower end cars that the masses can afford and will clog the roads. Many do not study the price plus interest and only care about the installment. I will not buy cng since where I live has no cng stations close by. A hybrid (gas+electric) is not an issue but I do not want a 3 month warranty.

True these are half assed measures ... happens when your economic policy is made by your financiers.
