So the corruption and inefficiency in the old licensing authority is to continue as is.
Seems that the PNM and Progress are two mutually exclusive concepts.

It's a shame to pass that facility nearly every day and know it's more than likely never to be used.

Welcome to 2016, PNM style, where no matter how much sense any other admins project makes, it will either be shelved, or claimed as their own. This from the PM who claimed "transparency in public affairs"

Cuz is not a pnm project, and they had no cut in it... So they might just rebuild another one and say this one inferior or too shiny or sum

Or the electrical components were stolen, or the building is under construction, or needs to be outfitted, ALL designed to give friends and financiers money for nothing. Then to come and tax yuh kant into oblivion, while millions going down the drain.

Heard from a Canadian who is employed with the company that "supposed" to be designing the new system for the MVA. The PNM has shelved the project and the building is to be re-purposed for storage and office spaces. The Canadian company is fed up with the inaction of the government so they have decided to pack up and leave after having wasted more than 6 years on the project.

Looks like the current system is to be maintained

Well we kinda realise what allowed JW to operate on that level now. The thing is the PNM rode in on a strange irony of taint free while propagating the most massively fraudulent charade (Emailgate) possible. PP did their sheit but the electorate has been duped by this unimaginative, backward thinking bunch of old type politicians who wield all the power.

That's the thing people don't realize. For some reason (well we know the reason), the population feels 'safer' with PNM.

Despite so many good initiatives and policies started by the PP, who were truly a progressive and patriotic government.

PP's downfall was Kamla's lack of charisma, some blatant corruption and the media attack on them.

I edited for u there. The reshimi incident was just the tip of the iceberg. Without going into details, jackos always spoke about being up against the cabal.

But as bad as it was, this PNM now, only complaining the pie remaining for them is too small, so we hadda put up and give them their share.

let's not forget that we're in a culture that assumes arrogance as a strong leadership trait.
It's funny reading some of the old treads on here though, you could easily swap one party's name for the other, but clearly the die hards can't see it. Remember when the mites were saying how fed up they were of the dUNCes blaming the Manning administration, and they should stop blaming and start working? Ah well, jokey people get jokey governments
As for the cabal thing, I never followed it when it was being brayed about, but how is it exactly different from the group(s) that's calling the shots now?

Would you prefer your arse rapist smile and tell you to relax and that the rape is good for you? The PP unquestionably were involved in corrupt activities, but they never cloaked themselves in piousness like Scarfy and Co. who are just as corrupt but somehow always manage to fly under the radar with their thievery and mismanagement.

Impose tax on books, stop book grant in skool, then bought cazabon and president wine.

Or is it they realize that this generatiin pickney don't really need education.

Cutting fat in cepep is justified, I know I hadda secure my yard proper now. But how is crippling their children's education gonna help? Especially when they sitting now and watching Trinidad wine.

They should have delayed the normalization of the diesel price till next year, so as not to hit people too hard. More than likely the 15% gonna impact cost of living.
Give the lower tier time to adjust in increments.

Somebody should tell the imp, drop by drop the bucket will full. He don't have to make all the money in one year.

Yeah Rowley actually made a statement in 2013 that if a government fails to deliver their mandate and blames the last administration for it then they have outlived their usefulness ...

He should listen to his own advice ...

This is so true ... The default option is the PNM for the electorate. Its only when they allowed more than 1 term in office and the sheit piling up start to real stink then people does change their view. But 5 years later ... the stench is long forgotten and we back to square 1. Then again there is no real third party for people to turn too.

had to google that:

on another note, he mentioned the Defense Bill as “ill-conceived approach of trying to convert the soldiers into policemen”.
how was that different to:

Apparently the man say that the last two generation have grown up with the government building road, hospital, and school. they live off of the government, and need to be weaned off.

This is their mindset. There is no correcting that. A dog is a dog, no matter how much u reach it to bawl like a cat.
They just doing things to secure their pockets, nothing to realistically better the citizens. The worst option for the citizen is chosen.

Then want to spend on wine, and useless stadium, and red house.
Justify that when u can't get medicine in a hospital.

Goes to a school improvement project and tells people that we should no longer look to the government for providing schools? *Facepalm*

Is just 4 more years of this moron. We have survived worse and we can survive this.

I must have missed the context, but what madness is this?
I could understand the weaning of some dependencies - food card, urp, cepep, etc.
But basic infrastructural works? schools and hospitals? was he drunk?

Down by me, when contractors came to repair the back roads, they were held up at gun point. Works stopped.

Fish men were held up, doubles van was held up market men were held up, gas trucks were held up.
Certain roads are blacklisted.

It have only so much equality u can and u should achieve.
Them fellas causing thing on their own self, for their own people.

Return on investment.... how many people pay taxes and still go to private medical facilities?

Just found out there is another reason why the new Motor Vehicle Authority was shelved. Syrians own the property that houses the POS licensing authority.

If the system is moved to the new MVS building the syrian cartel loses out on the ridiculous amount of rent we pay them. So party financiers benefit and progress is stalled for the rest of us.
