even if it was 1 out of 5 that is a life saved.
obviously this incident was due to the drivers failure to adhere to the law and was obviously reckless and irresponsible in his actions,
but there are many instances where pedestrians put themselves at risk and put law abiding drivers at a liability for prosecution.
The amount of times when i'm driving home from work friday's at 10pm and have to go through st. James or the avenue and some drunk a**hole walks out in front of me watching me hard,
or a driver coming from the opposite direction strays into my lane and causes me to have to steer towards the curb where a crowd of people are standing, these are the times when something very bad could happen given the right circumstances (speed, alchohol, tiredness etc).
