Operation Weed Eater.... If I recall correctly, they used a Chinook, a couple of Cobras, and I think a couple of Black Hawks (1995).

Hey Aidan, IN CASE you are considering going the rotorwing(helicopter) route, please keep in mind that there are app. 50 odd persons in Trinidad holding a rotorwing license simply waiting for a job. This is something that most don't tell you at a career day!

If you are still interested, pm me.

It stayed for a couple hours and left. It parked near the biz jet FBO (South-side).

i cannot believe some of these pics !! they are awesome !!!

i am pissed about the whole (The Light Airplane Club hosts "Learn to Fly Day") thing. I saw the thread but thought the tittle was about those small little planes, i had no idea choppers would be in the mix. Thus I am PISSED i did not read the thread and even more PISSED about seeing these pics.

what was the whole "learn to fly" thing about? were regular ppl given a chance to get a flight in them??

:( i hate this thread now :(

Ok, we take it that you're pissed foss. :) But, there's no need to be.

If you read the thread, you'd see the LAC was on a membership (PPL-A) enrollment drive for new students. Bristow provided info on acquiring the CPL(H) at the Bristow Academy (USA).

So it was a 'everything-you've-always-wanted-to-know-about-flying', but never had to opportunity the get the info directly.

Having seen the interest here on 2NR, I assure everyone that they shall all be notified of the next one via this forum.
