good, i blame ashur for everything bad that happen in that episode, i said it before...you do not fack with Lucretia the man had good standing and was on his way to being a free man with a chest full of plundered gold and his own ludus no...you want to play man and ask for lucretia...if he didnt f with lucretia, she wudda never tell illithyia to sink him, he wudda never go up d mountain to a death he really didnt deserve because he was clearly playing with navia, multiple times he could have kill her, spartacus woud have not come up with the idea to climb down the mountain, really wanted to see ashur get his dream, because despite beinga snake, he real work for what was promised to him, the 1 flaw in d plan was lucretia

good finale, the one thing that urkes me is how they portray the roman legionaries as helpless fools in combat. Legionaries would never break formation to fight one on one, they fought as a single cohesive unit which no gladiator could stand up too. Also where the hell did they get enough vines to make not one, but 4 ropes to descend a volcano over 4000ft high??

Also where the hell did they get enough vines to make not one, but 4 ropes to descend a volcano over 4000ft high??

Vines were growing on the sides of the mountains and the top...they never showed the entire top did they?...

Throughout the season the point they emphasized was that the training, skill and ability of a Gladiator no roman legionnaire could match...Gladiators were supernatural beasts in those days...

They couldn't keep formation in the forest son...another point Ashur made to them...

they fought as a single cohesive unit, but their individual skill was overall low. they were usually volunteers for salary, drafted, just making their contracts. their battle formations were great, and highly successful against a clear army, making use of the fact that the whole was stronger than their individual sums. one man could not penetrate their front lines, and usually they fought groups of persons who fought singly. but that may have been a matter of chance, as most of their opponents were rag tag people with no semblance. they did not have time to work out the best formations and just fought how ever they were accustomed. and who ever they defeated, made them part of colonies and made rome grow. apart from carthage.... hanibal barca i think. but even he, who bested them in every single encounter, so much so that one of his campaigns developed the coined phrase 'war of attrition', still did not win the war against them. their tactical skill eventually make up for their individual short comings.

but, where ole sparty was, they had to fight on an individual basis, so their numbers counted for naught.

good points you made, however with Hanibal your forgetting the battle that brought upon the end of Carthage as a world power in those days, the battle of Zama.
