How do I wipe a BlackBerry's user information and basically start the phone over from scratch?

I got someone's secondhand BB and I want to try it out for a while. They took out their sim card and the memory card, and I'm using my sim in it. The problem is, all their info, contacts, BBM contacts, e-mail and texts are still there.

Is there any way to basically wipe the slate clean?

It's a hit and a miss

Also I have my backlight set to 10%

Took your 10% advice and my batt life lowered :?

What's a good task manager for BB? Wanna see what's eating away this battery all the time.

7.1 os has battery monitoring as well....

As for the reboot loop you need to reinstall the official os

Was observing my battery and realized that the litmus paper on it is pinkish/redish in colour which means according 2 research that my battery somehow made contact with water.
Can this be the cause of my phone not booting???

I had a case where my office was extremely cold and when I left and went in to the hot car the change in temp sometimes caused some condensation to appear

I currently use the 9800 Torch, but I'm looking to upgrade to either of the OS7 i.e. the 9810, 9860 and the 9900. Any suggestions, reviews, best overall choice, etc. Thanks.

9900 is a sweet phone. But I'm still trying to adjust to the battery life. It a big drop after the 9700. And i dunno if anyone else notices its not even consistent. Sometimes you get thru a day no prob and the next day its in the red zone by 3p.m

^ I'm having the same problem with my 9850, good phone - but won't suggest you go for it if you're gonna miss your 9800 keyboard.

But the batt life I noticed drops drastically when I'm sleeping and wake up to a million and one notifs, it shows a significant drop.

check to see what apps are running in the back ground this sets you up sometimes.

There are some apps although you select close to stop them, they keep running.

I have 2 that you have to select exit for them to stop running in the background

set it to beside mode when charging overnight or even off the charger
it works as "phone only" during bedside mode

yea I adjusted the network settings(took off the 3g/4g, closed all the unnecessary apps, adjusted backlight brightness, lowered backlight timeout, adjusted the reload times for twitter and facebook. All together these helped maybe by 10%. Also its set to go to bed side mode at night while charging. Somewhere online I saw someone saw substantial gains deleting the social feeds program. Not sure I will try it yet. But I guess I just have to forget the 9700 days and plug in once I get in the car.

social feeds, and foursquare kills battery life, don't see the need for those, i just use social scope which is easier

apps running in the background are a killer, whatsapp is also one of them

Hey don't know if y'all know out this but I usually do this for all my friends with 8520's and other BB that Rees a lot and stuff and one of them told me I should post it in here...

To clear up some RAM on ur device to decrease chances of freezing hold "alt" and type L,G,L,G and a setta stuff comes up...it's the log, press menu button and select clear log and clear it....

A next thing to do that's harder is this...OPTIONS>>>SECURITY>>>ADVANCED SECURITY SETTINGS>>>MEMORY CLEANING.....make sure "enabled" is ticked..."clean on idle" at 5 mins and tick "place memory cleaner shortcut on home screen"...after u do this the phone will ask u to reboot...reboot and the loading screen comes up...after it loads up go on ur "applications" folder and u'd see memory cleaner in there...anytime ur phone running sluggish do the "alt" L,G,L,G and run the memory cleaner and ur phone will run as fast as if you've done a battery pull GUARANTEED :)
