Everyone is afraid to criticize Wayne Rooney( goal.com gave him a 7 rating hahaha) but i think he played a massive role in the loss today. He had one shot all game, one flick, and made a few runs, and then he went on to do nothing. Then as the end of the first half came he began to be a determine to the team, it was like playing with 10 men. Yet when he was asked if he was ok he said he was. Its selfish of Rooney to stay in when hes clearly not able to perform, and its just beyond stupid for fergie to oblige him and leave him in. By the time he came off the field he wasnt able to run. Then with a man advantage Bayern contorlled the game and wore down united, what did fergie do? Nothing he waited until Bayern scored to make the subs. He should have taken out two midfielders and replaced them with anyone who could run at that point, just to run into the passing lanes. So what now who will suffer with this? Dimitar Berbatov, why because rooney will miss a game or two because of his ankle and god forbid man U picks up a draw or even loses one therefore loses all hope for the premier league this year, where will the media place its blame? Berbatov for costing so much money and for not scoring enough. What does that do to him? lowers his confidence and doesnt play as well. So basically its self defeating. If you want to look at who lost this game it was Rafael, Rooney and Fergie
I won't be surprised if Lyon put a hurting on Bayern, great football still to come.

9) The Premier League doesn't look like such a great product anymore
With England's four Champions League representatives all having terrible campaigns, and the Premier League failing to provide a semi-finalist for the first time in seven years, it's safe to assume that ours is no longer The Best League In The World.
noshownogo wrote:joker i agree with you to an extent about Bayern over Lyon but that's exactly what Lyon would want Bayern to go in thinking, i just have a feeling that after reaching this far they gonna put on the fight of their life.
On another note guys, Barca vs Real Saturday(sorry ah know this is UCL thread but ah had to get it in)

Pong dem hard with this one. Everything is EPL this and EPL that.
Especially when it comes to Messi. Is always he cant do them things in the EPL and La Liga is sheit etc. When he scores against English sides is the team not at full strength, defensive errors (like goals dont score in EPL and other leagues from this) and the top EPL sides would not make them kinda mistakes etc. All kind of excuse.
EPL sides were great in CL because they good at defending. 9 or 10 men behind the ball and it would shut down many sides and players. Problems arise when they have to play real football and that is when they can look ordinary. When you have to score goals and not just sit and defend in the CL your weaknesses will be exposed.
Maybe its time to give some respect to other leagues esp since they putting out the top EPL sides.
