SR they would be knock offs...something barely resembling JB.
As usual we corrupt the ting so that we dont get the benefit of the technology.
But we pay through de ass for it.

I believe it was VII that lamented having the right tech and done the right things to bring new tech/safer tech/better systems....with an all too common result....SALT.

VII Ive been there done that in multiple ministries ....so I understand the frustration, embarrassment and the bitterness the system creates.

If we not enforcing the laws...then we need to make the highway safer...no one should dead cuz they driving faster than they should....on roads corruptly and therefore poorly built, that have no enforced speed limit.

All of us have driven faster than we should.many of us still do so.

A mistake or a lack of judgement should not be costing people their lives....much less people that have NOTHING to do with the cause of the accident.

Accidents ARE CAUSED.
Not JUST by the driver.

Which is why we have so many accident in this country. Trinis have lead foot.

I would say we have accidents for other reasons.

Of course you would.

Yup cuz I don't see speed being the biggest factor country wide in crashes. If speed was the real factor we would see fatalities all along the highway. We don't.

Obey the speed limit, enforce the laws, stiffer penalties. Those accidents over the weekend are clearly as a result of excessive speed.

I'd say it's not speed but difference between the speed of so many vehicles that causes the problem. If everyone drove within 5-10km/hr of one another all drivers could feel more comfortable. When you're doing 90 and come up to a car doing 50 and need to go into the next lane to pass and there's a car coming up behind you at 140 it really does cause a very much more dangerous situation than everyone being around 80 or 90 or 100.

I believe in that section one side of highway is much higher than the other and the median slopes between so the median effectively is a ramp

You can put whatever safety systems in place but people will adopt a, it won't happen to me attitude.
SUVs became popular because they were supposedly heavier vehicles and will offer better survivability in a crash.

3 lives lost in 3 different types of SUVs.

Unless attitudes change, any system that's put in will be defeated and the carnage will continue.

the problem is simple, people dont know how to handle their vehicle when something goes wrong, after learning to drive at 20km driving at 80 is super fast. our instinct to mash brakes and pull is usually what causes us to die!

How many times have we been driving on the highway and a car comes straight off the on-ramp to the rightmost lane at 40-60kmh?

Fools that use the merge lane as an overtaking lane thereby endangering those actually using the merging lane as intended.

Those that don't stop at T-junctions

Too much......

Look let's just face it.....whenever a system has a human in the loop (driver) there will be mistakes and lack of adherence to rules.

Safeguards must be put in place so other people's mistakes/stupidity don't result in the deaths/injuries of innocents.

Passed this on Saturday nite and just had a real serious sense of sadness.
At this part of the highway,I have seen at least one really serious crash before and there is a deviation to left as well as elevation change (if heading north).
Condolences are extended and hope that the deceased 'youths' rest in peace.
