So, I guess no more Crime Watch. Oh well, at least Ian has moved on to greener pastures.

Crime Watch new focus will probably be to help the UNC sufferers. PNM sufferers would not be left out since MSJ/Roget will help them out.

Crime Watch will most likely move to the Gov't television station CNMG. Don't think anyone else will want him now despite whatever claims to the contrary he makes. He's now a Gov't puppet

http://www.guardian.co.tt/news/2013-11- ... ir-15-days

Ian Alleyne says he will be back on air in 15 days, and yesterday boasted about getting “so many offers” from different media houses. Alleyne was fielding questions from the media outside the Port-of-Spain Magistrates Court, after appearing in court to answer the charge of resisting arrest.

Asked what were his plans for the Crime Watch programme, which was aired on CNC3 until he became a UNC candidate, Alleyne said, “As I indicated prior to getting involved in the political arena, I took some days off—about 15...let’s say about 15 days from now I should be on the air. “I wouldn’t say it’s strange but I’ve been getting so many offers, you know, so many offers to move across and what not to different networks.”

He said he was still waiting final word from his attorney Larry Lalla and was expected to meet with the management of CNC3 on Friday, after which he would make a decision. Dr Hamid Ghany, deputy managing director/managing editor of Guardian Media Ltd (GML), CNC3’s parent company, yesterday confirmed management was due to meet with Alleyne on Friday.

Alleyne and Errol Fabien had agreed to withdraw their services from GML when they decided to contest the St Joseph by-election, which was held on Monday. Fabien no longer appeared on Vibe CT 105’s morning show Mixed Nuts, while CNC3 stopped airing Alleyne’s Crime Watch programme from October 15. Before parting ways with the company, both men met with senior GML management, hours after they had filed their nomination papers with the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC).

GML’s managing director Gabriel Faria said then the company’s decision to ask both men to withdraw was part of the company’s policy, which is observed “scrupulously.” He added that while Alleyne’s show was a valuable recent addition to CNC3’s line-up, there were no exceptions to the policy. “We are enforcing company policy that once a GML staff member, freelancer or contractor is active in electoral politics, they must withdraw from providing services.

“The company policy is that all our stations—radio and TV, as well as the T&T Guardian—must be politically neutral,” Faria said.
