From WikipediaPirated leak
Two weeks before the release of the game, it was reported that half of the PC version had been uploaded online after being stolen from a warehouse in Fresno, California. Investigators working on behalf of Activision have been searching torrent websites for traces of the game as well as visiting people who had downloaded a copy across the United States and requesting that they remove it or they will face a fine of US$5000.
So it is leaked on the internet all we have to do is get a crack for it......any suggestions??? or we could just wait.....

Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V will be set in its fictional world of San Andreas.
San Andreas is a fictional U.S Southwestern state which includes three cites based on real U.S cities - Los Santos, (Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco) and Las Venturas (Las Vegas). Rockstar has a habit of tweaking its cities, and GTA V is set in modern day, so it's possible that area names and the city's layout will change.

it's called "reflowing"
this problem isnt unique to ps3 or xbox etc
as you rightly stated, it can either work for an hr, a day, a month a yr etc
you can have it professionally reflowed (about $400 locally) or you can try the method in the video or use an oven
