Nah that civil war between Jon and Daenerys is enough to fill an episode

Love these reminders that the show has been foreshadowing last night’s episode since season 1.

Golden Company for sure.

At least the white walkers kill several thousand dothraki.

Walder Frey took out more main characters than all of them combined...including the Night King. With one episode left, he'll probably end up being the villain of the series, imagine that.

Purposely staying clear of the "leaks", but if the spoiler free reviews are anything to go by they've been on point.

Not a good sign for the finale...:|

In other news the disenchantment with this season seems to be growing...

Thousands of Game of Thrones Fans Sign Petition Demanding Season 8 Remake
By Amanda Bell | @amandajunebell | May 15, 2019 4:25 PM EDT

As we look forward to (or perhaps just brace for) Sunday's Game of Thrones finale, thousands of fans have already thrown in the towel on the showrunners' version of Season 8 and are demanding HBO give someone else have a shot at bringing the series to a satisfying conclusion.

More than 46,000 people have now signed an unlikely, fantastical Change.org petition demanding a remake of the final season with someone else holding the keys to the adaptation of George R.R. Martin's still-unfinished A Song of Ice and Fire series.

"David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on," the petition's originator wrote. "This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!"

The backlash against Game of Thrones' final season has become increasingly intense ever since the third episode of the abbreviated season, "The Long Night," proved to be too dark for some viewers to enjoy and felt anticlimactic to others, who complained that the long-awaited clash with the Night King failed to live up to the hype.

Since then, the series has sustained criticism from its fanbase for everything from a clumsily overlooked coffee cup to its out-of-character moments for fan favorites to the many unsatisfying deaths that have come along to its irresponsible dialogue about sexual assault. Most recently, the series' penultimate episode, "The Bells," proved to be extremely upsetting for a large segment of viewers due to the breakneck speed with which it turned Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) into a "burn them all"-style monster after showing her as a war hero who risked everything to protect the innocent just two episodes beforehand.

Apart from petitioning and many, many memes, fans have also expressed their dismay in other ways. Shortly after "The Bells" aired, Game of Thrones fans on Reddit "Google-bombed" a picture of the showrunners so that they'd show up in an image search of the words "bad writers."

Game of Thrones' audience numbers haven't suffered in the new season — in fact, "The Bells" was the show's highest-rated episode ever — but as the negativity continues the dominate the conversation about this season, and more fans add their names to petitions like this one, it's clear Game of Thrones may not join the list of series that managed to stick the landing in the end.

Game of Thrones' series finale airs Sunday, May 19 at 9/8c on HBO.

Of course this season will have the highest number of viewers. So many bandwagonists jumping on right now. I hope they don't get confused and think more numbers equals better episodes. This season is surviving solely on the last 7. People already reach this far and want to see how it's going to end. Plua many others watching it out of FOMO syndrome.

I predict that this season will kill the longevity of the show though. Nobody going to want to watch it over knowing the ending was crap.

Agreed.

There was little or no pay off for any of the magic though. Like...
the Lord of light - bringing people back from the dead, Starks - warging into animals, Bran - three eyed raven, Targaryen - walking through fire, Arya - faceless man abilities, and the whole Azor Ahai prophecy, Jon putting his sword through Danny should have fulfilled that prophecy.

I thought they would have used those things in the end.

At the end of it I enjoyed the entire series a LOT

Filming already started on Bloodmoon.

It's going to be thousands of years before ASOIAF though.

What about the babies from Craster's Keep?

The long night deserved a season of its own. They were talking about this great war with the dead and a long night which they though they may last decades to have it completely resolved in 1 night despite horrible military planning. Also, why did Bran warg into the flock of crows? Just to get a better view of everyone dying so he could be king?

Bran turned out to be a little c@nt in the end. He had the ability to see the future and put everything in place (including turning down being lord of winterfell) so that he could be king in the end.Even though I know the decision made sense, they put so little effort into the lead up that it just ended up being anti-climatic and disappointing. Why even bother to have grey worm tell Tyrion shut up then allow him to speak and take back all power from him? Lol, grey worm played himself.
