Ask your teammate to take out your rival instead... No penalty points to you, but they could be disqualified for life like Nelson Jr.

Hamilton is going to win this years title.

At this point in time you start asking the question what if
What if Max didn't have that DNF in Baku or Silverstone. What if Bottas didn't help a crash into the 2 red bull cars. What if they didn't take each other out in Monza
My f1tv sub this year was well worth it

Disqualified for life? Nah, dq from this championship and they and the manufacturer lose all their points for the season. For both of the top teams they would drop to 4th and lose a LOT of money.

Max has been quite reckless this season though.

He has pushed Lewis many times off track and racked up multiple penalty points.

His race craft isn't there yet. He has the quali pace and talent, but skill wise Lewis, Ric and Alonso are better at wheel to wheel.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no max fan. His race craft is excellent though - has learnt how to manage his pace and his tyres and more times than not makes a clean pass.
What he isn't is mature - he hasn't yet learnt that some battles are better off not fought, and what he seems hard racing pushes the boundaries.

LH has also pushed him and many others off many times, as have all champions in a close title run.

Banzai, noone can ever doubt LH is great...you don't win 7 WC by pure luck, even in the fastest car. However, on raw pace, max is faster.

imo, Max is the best driver on the grid, LH is diabolically clinical and calculated, he’s a very correct driver, along with experience and a mental edge above everyone else in the lineup. Put Lewis in the RB and put Max in the Merc, who’ll win?!!

I think LH will win this weekend and claim his 8th. Max on the other hand still has a chance, but he’ll have to do quite a lot to fight off that merc. Perez/Bottas could be a huge factor this weekend depending on how they qualify

If it wasn't for Hamilton I'd be a huge Max fan, but he is overly careless. If he loses the Championship he'll know that he only has himself to blame and if he drove with more care he would have won the championship by a good few points.

He is far more measured than when he started and I think this season he went back to the Verstappen of old in order to secure as many points and wins as possible by any means necessary, but if he trusts himself to just win on skill alone then he'll be unstoppable. He's about halfway where he needs to be.

Mercedes and Red Bull were interested in Max when he entered F3 so maybe post Hamilton they'll try to sign him and completely lockout the Championships for the next era.

He's still prone to rash decisions and not thinking long term, similar to early Lewis.

If he'd conceded 2nd place in Silverstone he'd be champion by now.

I don't get this 'conceded' second place thing...LH understeered into the side of his car after a late turn at 150mph after max left him room.
If he loses the championship it's because Bottas took him out and a puncture at the end of Baku. Every track that the red bull had a chance in otherwise, he won

I find it funny that Lewis isn't happy with Max's driving considering that it is very similar to the F1 driver he idolized (Senna). Also funny that his measured approach is closer to one of his idols main rival, Prost

Merc and LH did their part in the fight back to even have a shot at both titles.. on another note, i must say that Max was a bit unlucky on a couple occasions. Baku and Silverstone were two really unfortunate events for him. With that said, seeing the new layout and watching practice this morning, those changes to Yas Marina highly suits Merc.

I can’t see it going any other way than a merc one two. I hope max proves me wrong. On to qualifying we go!!!!

I would not like to be Michael Masi right now. It was basically up to him to decide who to give the championship to. But Checo was an absolute legend today.

In the first lap, Mercedes never gave anything back when he ran completely off track, Wolff had no right radioing to Massi to not issue a full Safety car for the incident, thirdly the steward only did what was officially customary to allow overlapped cars to overtake and retake their position before the restart, to have done it differently would have brought the open biased favoring Mercedes to the front burner. Yes it was a late call, but that’s racing.

I’m getting a bad feeling about this… hope the result stands.. Masi to Toto “it’s called motor racing”, one of the highlights of today
