Real-world results show AZ has an efficacy similar to Pfizer and Moderna. The real-world results of Sinopharm are just above 50%.

They're already trialing giving a 3rd Sinopharm shot to boost efficacy.

I dont know about yall but im not comfortable taking vaccines twice or in sinopharm case three times a year...im putting something in my body that im unsure what the side effects both long and short will be over a period of time in the hopes to fight something that i can still catch and spread to others vaccinated or not....

We are riding the peak bros, rolling average is still increasing at 487!

Testing rates are extremely high but it appears to be leveling off now......thought expect the next 5 days to still be 400 on average daily.

172 dead since May 1st......looks like we'll be at 300 by the 31st.

Key Points From The Post Cabinet Media Briefing – Thursday May 20th 2021

Education Minister Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly announced that as a result of the rising COVID-19 cases across the country, the SEA Exam will now be held on Thursday July 1st 2021.

The SEA results will be released in the second week of September to facilitate the placement of students into Secondary Schools by the third week of September.

Minister Gadbsy-Dolly said 178 SEA candidates from 88 Primary Schools have asked to defer their exams, while 402 CXC candidates have asked for deferrals to 2022.

Trinidad and Tobago has indicated support for the deferral of the commencement of CXC examinations of no longer than three weeks.

Minister Gadsby-Dolly said discussions are ongoing to identify the most critical categories of school personnel for COVID-19 vaccination. Those categories should be submitted to the Ministry of Health by next week.

The Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Dr. Amery Browne, announced that St. Vincent and the Grenadines donated 16,000 AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines to Trinidad and Tobago today. The vaccines, which arrived this afternoon, will expire at the end of June but the Ministry of Health has indicated that they will be utilised well before that time.

Minister Browne also confirmed that Bermuda will be donating 8,000 AstraZeneca vaccines to T&T. Details on the shipment are being finalised but the vaccines are expected in T&T some time next week.

Minister Browne noted that there has been vaccine hesitancy in some smaller Caribbean nations. He said MOH officials do not anticipate any wastage here at home.

T&T is also working assiduously to get COVID-19 vaccines from the US after President Joe Biden announced earlier this week that 20 million more vaccines will be sent to various countries. Minister Browne said the feedback from the US has been positive for the "CARICOM as a while and Trinidad and Tobago in particular."

Do we have a choice? We dont really have much more options and we def dont know when we will get more options to choose from. Right now is to risk either of the vaccines available to us or be EXTRA careful until more options arrive.

Honestly given what's happening with Sinopharm in Seychelles and UAE persons needing a 3rd dose due to efficacy concerns, I don't think Sinovac is much worse.

That said, it's not WHO approved, which was a criteria by this government.

Let's hope it really is Sinopharm and perhaps they reused packaging from Sinovac....who knows yes, but if it is Sinovac they can't hide that easily.

China's Sinopharm vaccine 'most unsafe in world' with 73 side effects
Side effects of China's vaunted Sinopharm vaccine include loss of vision

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A Chinese vaccine expert is referring to the vaunted Sinopharm vaccine as the "most unsafe vaccine in the world," after it was found to produce 73 side effects.

On Dec. 30 of last year, BBIBP-CorV, an inactivated vaccine produced by China National Biotec Group (CNBG), a subsidiary of China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation (Sinopharm), was officially approved by China's National Medical Products Administration for general use in the communist country. This was the first Wuhan coronavirus vaccine approved by the Chinese government, and the state-run firm claimed that it has an efficacy rate of 79.34 percent based on late-stage trials.

However, Shanghai-based vaccine expert, Tao Lina (陶黎納), recently uploaded a digital version of the vaccine's instruction manual onto his Weibo page, reported Hong Kong's Ming Pao newspaper. He stated that after he read the manual, "I took in a long cold breath, and counted the conditions listed in the 'adverse reactions' column." He found that there were 73 local/systemic adverse reactions associated with the vaccine.

The vaccine expert found that in addition to pain in the injection site and headache, there were severe side effects listed that were "more likely to occur," such as high blood pressure, loss of vision, loss of taste, delayed menstruation, and urinary incontinence.

He wrote that the 73 adverse reactions to the vaccine listed on the manual make it what he describes as the "most unsafe vaccine in the world in one fell swoop."

Tao wrote that no inactivated vaccine has more types of adverse reactions than this product. He also asserted that this number of adverse reactions is "absolutely unprecedented."

He stated that other doctors jokingly described the manual as "one long disclaimer." However, he alleged that as long as the side effects are listed in the manual, recipients are not entitled to compensation if they occur.

He warned that the company will be immune to lawsuits from people seeking compensation for suffering the vaccine's side effects and that the provincial governments will be expected to provide recompense instead. Tao suggested that the provincial governments will then face most of the blame if there are major problems with the vaccine.

His Weibo account was quickly deleted by authorities. His page now states "this content cannot be viewed due to violation of regulations."

Tao, 43, has been working in the Shanghai Center for Disease Control and Prevention (SCDC) since August of 2000 and is responsible for vaccine management. In late December of last year, Beijing Business Today interviewed him on issues related to the COVID-19 vaccine.

Found the list of side effects for Sinopharm.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Amid increasing concern about the efficacy and safety of China's Wuhan coronavirus vaccines, the full list of the adverse side effects of the Sinopharm jab surfaced last week.

Shanghai-based vaccine expert Tao Lina (陶黎納) on Jan. 4 uploaded to Weibo a digital version of the manual for BBIBP-CorV, an inactivated vaccine produced by China National Biotec Group (CNBG), a subsidiary of China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation (Sinopharm). In his post, he described the vaccine as the "most unsafe vaccine in the world" due to its 73 local and systemic adverse reactions.

However, the post was deleted on Jan. 5 by China's censors "due to violation of regulations." On Thursday (Jan. 7), Tao apologized and claimed that foreign media had mistaken his sarcastic joke about the vaccine instructions for real criticism and pledged to set an example by taking two doses himself.

The instructions for the vaccine rate the adverse reactions based on the standard set by the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences, with the categories very common, common, uncommon, rare, and very rare. A total of 75 adverse side effects are listed, but because "headache" and "eye pain" are listed twice, the actual number is 73. The following is a translation of the instructions posted by Tan and published by hk01 on Jan. 6.

Local reactions
First, for local reactions at the vaccination site, under very common it lists headache. For common, it lists flush, swelling, scleroma, rash, and itching. Under uncommon, it lists erythema.

Systemic adverse reactions
Second, for systemic adverse reactions, it starts by listing headache under very common. For common, it lists fever, fatigue, muscle ache, joint pain, cough, difficulty breathing, nausea, diarrhea, and itchy skin,

Under uncommon, it lists dizziness, loss of appetite, vomiting, oropharyngeal pain, difficulty swallowing, runny nose, constipation, and hypersensitivity.

For rare, it lists acute allergic reaction, lethargy, drowsiness, difficulty sleeping, sneezing, nasopharyngitis, nasal congestion, dry throat, influenza, hypoesthesia, limb pain, palpitations, stomach ache, rash, skin and mucous membrane abnormalities, acne, eye pain, ear discomfort, and lymphadenopathy.

Lastly, under very rare,
it lists chills, dysgeusia (distortion of the sense of taste), loss of taste, feeling abnormal, tremors, difficulty paying attention, nose bleeds, asthma, throat irritation, tonsillitis, limb discomfort, neck pain, jaw pain, neck lumps, mouth ulcers, toothache, esophageal disease, gastritis, discoloration of stool, eye pain, blurred vision, eye irritation, vision loss, earache, nervousness, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, urinary incontinence, and delayed menstruation.

Seems to be biased reporting:

Taiwan News (formerly China News[2]) is an English-language online newspaper and former print newspaper in Taiwan. It is owned by foods company I-Mei Foods, which also publishes the Chinese-language news weekly of the same name

Under the ownership of I-Mei Foods, which is strongly associated with the Taiwanese identity, Taiwan News changed its editorial stance from being pro-KMT to being in favor of the Pan-Green coalition and Taiwan independence.[1][4]:1858 According to former editor Anthony Lawrance, Taiwan News opposes autocracies and the People's Republic of China.[4]:1858 In the late 1990s, Taiwan News rejected Chinese unification as advocated by the KMT and associations of Taiwan with the People's Republic of China under the "one country, two systems" principle
