I am convinced that my act of washing my cars is a some sort of rain dance. I expected rain this weekend, blazing sunshine, so I take the opportunity to wash off the highway muck...Monday afternoon is flood rain. Oh well, better than drought.

Postby Duane 3NE 2NR » October 24th, 2011, 4:29 pm

1. DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAVE INCREASED IN ASSOCIATION WITH A BROAD LOW PRESSURE AREA OVER THE SOUTHEASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS...HOWEVER...ARE ONLY MARGINALLY CONDUCIVE FOR DEVELOPMENT AND THIS SYSTEM HAS A LOW CHANCE...10 PERCENT...OF
BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT ABOUT 10 MPH. REGARDLESS OF DEVELOPMENT...
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND GUSTY WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER THE WINDWARD ISLANDS...ARUBA...BONAIRE...AND CURACAO THROUGH
TONIGHT. FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO YOUR AREA...PLEASE SEE STATEMENTS ISSUED BY YOUR LOCAL WEATHER OFFICE.

^ Lange Park had a lil flooding around 2pm
water in the drains were up to the road level but it never crested

if that rain had continued like that after lunch it would have definitely flooded parts of central

INFORMATION BULLETIN
SHOWERY ACTIVITY TO PERSIST FOR AT LEAST EXT 3 – 5 HOURS

October 28th 11am

The Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone enhanced by favourable upper level support is currently affecting weather conditions in some parts of Trinidad and Tobago.

Consequently, rainfall activity consisting of moderate to heavy showers and the occasional thundershower can be expected to persist and/or occur for at least the next 3 – 5 hours. Rainfall accumulations of between 20 to 35 millimeters are possible. Moderate to severe street/flash flooding in some areas with gusty winds can also be expected in the vicinity of heavy showers/thundershowers. Sporadic incidence of landslips/landslides particularly along the slopes of the Northern Range could continue to occur.

Citizens are advised to be vigilant and cautious as they conduct their activities. Be alert to any electrical discharges from thundercloud activity and adopt measures which would preserve life and property.

WE STRONGLY UNDERSCORE THAT TRINIDAD AD TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING AT THIS TIME.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is closely monitoring weather conditions and will issue another bulletin if the situation warrants.
