Impressive that they played 37 league games and did not lose any.

Before yuh come out and get on bad make sure yuh get yuh facts correct....Dortmund win in 1997.....Juventus was the winner in 1996....so basically yuh saying that yuh start supporting them the year after they win....

think he would have more likely mixed up the year in which they won rather than who won in 97

...jus saying

I just mixed up the years meng. I have been a supporter since that era of players i.e Antonio Conte, now coach, Edgar Davids, Roberto Baggio, Ciro Ferrara, Filipo Inzaghi etc.

Liverpool are in the hunt for a new manager after club legend Kenny Dalglish has been sacked by the club's American owners.

Kenny Dalglish has paid the price for Liverpool's disastrous Barclays Premier League campaign after the Anfield legend was sensationally axed by the club's American owners on Wednesday.

Dalglish, who guided Liverpool to Carling Cup glory but oversaw their FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea at Wembley this season, has been shown the door by the club's Fenway Sports Group owners, just two days after holding a showdown summit with main men John W Henry and Tom Werner.

Dalglish arrived back in Merseyside on Wednesday and was expected to leave the UK again to go on holiday with his wife - although those plans have been put on hold following his sacking.

The Reds finished in eighth place in the league - four points below rivals Everton and level with ninth-placed Fulham on goal difference - in a woeful season that saw them lose four league games at Anfield.

The 61-year-old only returned to the Liverpool hotseat in January 2011 after replacing axed boss Roy Hodgson.
Dalglish, who has won nine league titles, three European Cup trophies, three FA Cups and five League Cup triumphs during his combined 15 years of service as a player and manager at the Liverpool is the latest in a series of high-profile departures, following director of football Damien Comolli and communications chief Ian Cotton out of the exit door.

Former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas, Wigan's Roberto Martinez and former boss Rafa Benitez are all in the running to succeed Dalglish in charge of the club.

..Alessandro Del Piero gets a goal and a Scudetto in his last home match with Juventus

........
One of the classiest footballers to ever wear a Juventus shirt (or any shirt) got the send-off he deserved at his final home match. Juve finished off their undefeated season -- the first in a 38-match Serie A season, according to Paolo Bandini -- with a 3-1 win over Atalanta in which Del Piero scored Juve's second goal.

After he was subbed off in the 58th minute to a standing ovation, Del Piero turned his attention to the tearful fans who have supported him for the last 19 years, signing autographs and waving goodbye before lifting the Scudetto and taking a lap of honor after the final whistle.

With just the Coppa Italia final against Napoli in Rome left to play before his Juve career ends, the 37-year-old made it clear that there's still some joy he needs to squeeze out of the game. From Football Italia:

"There's a lifetime ahead of me to work as a director. I am in good shape, I was born to play football and as long as I can do that, I'm happy.

"Would I like to play in England? I've always said you experience football in a fantastic way there. However, I haven't discussed a transfer for 19 years, so I'm a bit out of the loop on what to do!"

Better to be born to play football than to talk about transfer, I'd say.

Fabio Capello in talks with Roman Abramovich over Chelsea job

Fabio Capello has held talks with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich about becoming the club’s new manager.

It was reported in Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport today that the former England coach has been in discussions with the Russian multi-billionaire about his plans for Chelsea next season.

As Standard Sport revealed last month, Abramovich is not keen on employing current interim first-team coach Roberto di Matteo on a permanent basis even though he has taken the club to their second Champions League Final — which they play on Saturday against Bayern Munich — and guided them to FA Cup success.

The Chelsea owner wants a more experienced coach to take charge and oversee the rebuilding of the squad, especially after the experiment of using a younger man in Andre Villas-Boas backfired when he was sacked in March.
