THERE is now a new twist in the investigation into the kidnapping of Couva school teacher Keston Mahabir after a 15-year-old pupil of his lodged a report at the Central Police Station in Port of Spain on Monday, alleging that she and Mahabir were sexually involved.
The girl, whose father is currently on trial for a 2005 kidnapping and murder, made the report in the presence of her attorney, Alexia Romero, after the information became known to officers on Friday while she was being interviewed by detectives at the Couva Police Station.
Her mother, her 23-year-old brother and his 23-year-old girlfriend had been in police custody since last week in connection with the kidnapping. However, they were released yesterday morning, just hours after their attorney, Criston J Williams, filed for a writ of habeas corpus which was to be heard at the Hall of Justice in Port of Spain yesterday, but which did not materialise as they were released.

Stupes how come all of a sudden when he gone missing and only when police suspect the girl family which the media clearly reported her family was in custody is only then and there she decided to go make a report? take one for the team?

Maybe it's true or maybe it ain't but that story don't add up, I call horseshit cause soon as you're a suspect or your family fingers does point in real direction.
Men know how to get up inside the man place he prob dead by now RIP.. But the whole idea is this backwards country won't see the crime for what it is and would turn around and say good for he when infact her family are criminals themselves and get a pat on the back?
