The concept of accountability and consequences for screw ups does not exist in the Trinidad public service.

star947#BreakingNews Ali, one of eleven persons who were detained by police on Monday for questioning in the murder of Dana Seetahal one year ago, has been formally charged with murdering the State Counsel in May 2014.
Ali is the brother of Rajaee and Ishmael Ali, both of whom are on Remand Yard at Golden Grove, awaiting trial on a charge of conspiring to murder radio announcer Kevaughn “Lerbz” Savory.
His other brother, Hassan Atwell, remains at large, after he, along with Alan 'Scanny' Martin and Christopher Selby, staged a daring escape by shooting their way out of the Port of Spain prison at noon on Friday.
Several among the detainees will be slapped with different charges. Among those detained on Monday were Rajaee’s wife, Stacy Griffith, brothers Stephen and Devon Cummings, Ricardo Stewart, Keston Seales and Deon Peters, all of whom are members of the Carapo mosque which is...

Who brought the food with weapons? They had to sign in? Visits for these max security prisoners on the same day at same time in the same room?
Where did the family members go when the prison break started? Did they flee with the escapees? Did they stay in the prison? Were they allowed to just leave?
Who else was in the van? Why did it crash? Where were they headed when they crashed? That's a bad route for a planned escape like this.

Escapee Christopher “Monster” Selby yesterday apologised to two women and a PH taxi driver for putting their lives in danger after boarding the car they were in at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
Selby, 30, who entered the car bound for lower Port-of-Spain reportedly told the trio: “Excuse me but we just trying to fight the system.”
Selby, along with Allan ‘Scanny’ Martin, 42, and Hassan Atwell, 41, broke out of the Port-of-Spain prison around 12.30 pm yesterday. Martin was shot dead at the hospital’s guard booth while Atwell and Selby remained on the run last night. Police said the men were considered armed and dangerous.
In a telephone interview yesterday, one of the two women who was in the car with Selby said she and the other passenger were at Belmont Circular Road, Belmont, when she was attempting to get out. However, Selby confronted her and ordered her back into the car.
“I saw him running coming towards the car and when he came in I tried to come out because I find it suspicious, but he said ‘Nobody not getting out here’ so I went back in the front seat and put on my seat belt,” the woman, who did not want to be identified, said.
She added that the man ordered everyone in the car to switch their cellphones off, which they did. Selby asked to be taken to Belmont but the driver refused, telling Selby that the police would be searching for him there.
“When he reach Oxford Street he call somebody and say ‘Babe ah leaving, where you?’ and he tell the person to hurry. He was only looking back but the driver say don’t do that.
“He hand the driver $100 and the driver told him he need to have his getaway car when they doing their things. He say they had one but...and then he stop and call the girl again,” the woman said.
She added, “When we was driving along Nelson Street, just before Prince Street, two police jeep passed right next to the car and the driver was telling him to keep his cool. He call the girl again by South East and tell her he will meet her by the bakery. Then the other woman asked him if we could come out and he said yes and we came out and the driver continued with him in the car.”
The woman said she was extremely fearful but did not notice any weapon on him.
