Wilfried Bony might leave Man City for Arsenal; Everton eye Yannick Bolasie

Gunners eye Bony
Arsenal will make a shock move for Wilfried Bony in a bid to add firepower to boost their title challenge in the new Premier League season.

The Star reports that the Gunners are ready to bid £30 million for the Ivorian, though Arsene Wenger has yet to make up his mind.

City would be likely to snap up the offer, which would net them a £5m profit on the 27-year-old, who cost £25m when he was signed from Swansea City.

Bony did not seem to settle at the Etihad under Manuel Pellegrini, and was left behind by new manager Pep Guardiola for Sunday's 3-2 loss to Arsenal in Sweden. Guardiola said he remained a City player "at the moment."

Valencia's Shkodran Mustafi has agreed to join Arsenal but the clubs have yet to finalise a fee, according to Sky sources.

Arsene Wenger is in the market for a centre-half after Per Mertesacker suffered a long-term knee injury and Gabriel was ruled out for up to eight weeks.

Sky in Germany are reporting that Mustafi has agreed to move to the Gunners, although sources say the player has signed nothing and there is no agreement yet between the clubs.

The 24-year-old Germany international, who is valued at around £30m, is still training with Valencia, and Wenger's immediate focus is on preparing a team - including a makeshift defence - for Sunday's Premier League opener at home to Liverpool, live on Sky Sports.

Claudio Ranieri insists there have been no approaches for Riyad Mahrez and expects the Leicester winger to remain with the Premier League champions.

The 25-year-old Algeria international was voted the 2015/16 PFA Player of the Year after playing a major role in the Foxes' memorable title-winning campaign.

nah....4th place is possible.

IF Mustafi and a striker, then title is possible.

Soon-to-be Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi revealed that German national teammate Mesut Ozil convinced him to join the London club from Valencia.

The former Everton centre-back is set to be unveiled as an Arsenal player this week after Arsene Wenger admitted that the club are sorting out the paperwork to finalise the deal.

Arsenal secured their first league win of the season on Saturday when they won 3-1 away to Watford, and will use the international break to strengthen their squad with a couple of signings.

Shkodran Mustafi spoke to Mesut Ozil about joining Arsenal in the Premier League.
Mustafi, 24, will be a much needed defensive boost for the Gunners, having been one of the top defenders in the La Liga last season.

His move to Arsenal has been quickened following the injury to compatriot Per Mertesacker, while Ozil spoke to him about life at the club.

"I did not see Per for a long time because he quit international football but I talked to Mesut," Mustafi told Sky Sports Germany.

"He told me everything I wanted to know. Everything was positive, so I was convinced very fast. It did not take much.

"I have always loved Arsenal, I like how they play here, it is not typical English.

"The game here is more like in Spain and with the German national team, keeping the ball on the grass, so it was easy to convince me."

Mustafi has reported passed a medical along with Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez, with Valencia agreeing to sell the defender for a fee of £35 million.

Arsenal are willing to let England midfielder Jack Wilshere go out on loan to get first-team football.

The 24-year-old, whose career has been plagued by injuries, only made three appearances for the Gunners last season after fracturing his left fibula.

He played six times for England over the summer - including three games at Euro 2016 - but was not named in Sam Allardyce's first squad this week.

Arsenal paid £35m for Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka this summer.

How to follow Transfer Deadline Day
Wilshere, who has 34 caps, has only started 80 Premier League games for Arsenal, making two substitute appearances so far this season.

He had a loan spell at Bolton in 2010.

Wilshere has less than 48 hours to find a loan club before the transfer deadline. He could be the second established England international to move on loan this week, with Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart set to move to Italian side Torino.

Arsenal's Serge Gnabry is set to sign for Bayern Munich on a permanent deal before being loaned to Werder Bremen, according to Sky Germany.

Sky sources reported earlier in the window that Gnabry was being offered to clubs on loan, but that manager Arsene Wenger wanted the Germany international to sign a contract extension.

But it is understood Bayern Munich have since agreed a permanent deal with Arsenal for the 21-year-old winger.

Gnabry signed a five-year deal with Arsenal in 2013 and it is understood most of the Bundesliga have been interested in signing the player.

Gnabry has been playing for Germany at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, having represented his country at every youth level from U16 to U21.

He spent a portion of last season on loan at West Brom but made just three appearances and was subsequently recalled by Wenger, who believes the youngster has a future at the Emirates.

Gnabry joined Arsenal as a 16-year-old from Stuttgart in 2011 and has made 18 appearances, including five starts in the Premier League.

He made his last appearance for the Gunners against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last-16 in 2014.
