DSS,

Ihe idj should work well, having seen the hard drive version of this mixer in use myself. it uses the same firmware.

what I am unsure of is whether this is only for ipods, or whether it can work with mass storage devices as well. that will limit your flexibility - ipods come with limited storage space

anybody here ever tried HAILI speakers (Acoustic brand)

I was looking at a pair of non-powered monitors and came across those. sounded decent in the store, wanna know if they hold up under pressure.

Never heard those...I know the Acoustic brand though...it aight.

Really and truly, SmokeyGTi, it your money and your budget, so as long as you're satisfied meng, organize.

I will tell you that the new Gemini's are pretty good bang for buck though...Steve's electronics is the dealer....not sure if they have any non-powered ones in stock though.

Oh, guys I forgot to ask....for those using VDJ and such programs without the timecode hardware and external controllers/players, what’s a good USB headphone you’d recommend? I have some travelling to do and might as well make use of the plane ride and practice a bit! lol

Hey guys...just wanna know if any of you can give me some advice or point me in the right direction. It`s not a DJ setup i have just a lil house music...equipment a Technics SA-AX720 stereo receiver running 2 10" selenium and a pair of bullet tweeters and an Americian Audio V3001 running 4 15" EFX subs...everything plays thru my computer. What equipment can I use to make my music sound clean. The amp playing the bass has a crossover built in so it sounds decent but the mids and highs needs some cleanup. What do you guys recommend I use?

^If you're talking about for Pro Audio use, you only need left and right.

If you want surround sound, then buy a 5 channel card

Hardly any application will use more than one sound card at the same time.

also try wizz computers and prw. in any case dem ting cheeeeep on amazon.com

smash, it would be easier to configure you internal soundcard for 1 deck and the usb soundcard for the other.

i'm assuming you want to use an external mixer.
the only problem that may arise (and i've seen it happen) is that you may get a slight latency issue with either one of the soundcards (meaning, a small delay between when you click/press button and when something happens) once you get accustomed to it you okay

on another note i bought the acoustic unpowered monitors...they ain't bad at all. real good for PA work, want to get another pair.

^^ I use the Numark DJ I/O

great sound quality, low latency, has two sets of rca outs, 1/4 headphone output, 1/4 mic in.
could be configured to run to an external mixer
or you can use one channel for master out and the other to cue.

Depends....what amps and outboard gear are you using, and what speakers do you have?

The older one in that was my first crossover ever, back in the days of 15” scoops, integrated amps and fane tops....hahahaha. Good ole days.

Gathering equipment slowly. I not sure what I gonna use but I really need a xover... I have a Phase Linear amp that need fixing, if I get that to work I'll use that for bass

Have a generic aright-ish EQ also
