Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho insisted they didn’t pick up the second yellow cards deliberately in order to have a clean slate going into the knockout round.

Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Zapatero Predicts 4-2 Win For Barcelona In El Clasico
Spain’s prime minister, Jose Luis Zapatero, has offered his prediction on Monday’s El Clasico battle, and he reckons that Barcelona will emerge 4-2 victors over bitter rivals Real Madrid.
The political leader has previously claimed to be a lifelong follower of the Blaugrana, and he told Catalan radio broadcast RAC 1 that although he has otherwise engagements meaning he will be unable to see the match, he has asked to be sent a txt message of the result.
Zapatero said of his love of the Spanish champions: “Barcelona caresses and cultivates the intelligence of football and converts it into something more than a physical contact sport. Sometimes it recalls a game of chess.”
The socialist supremo also claimed that while he has respect for Real Madrid and their outspoken coach Jose Mourinho, he prefers the personality and approach of Pep Guardiola.
Furthermore he added the he enjoys “Lionel Messi’s dribbles” over the style of Los Blancos superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real Madrid are a point clear of Barcelona at the top of the Primera Division table heading into the match.
Jose Mourinho wrote:"We don't care about Barcelona, because we are the league leaders, although it could be special for them as it will be my first Barcelona - Real Madrid," he said. "I will go back to that ground after winning the Champions League with Inter Milan and I played against Barca six times when I was Chelsea coach," he said.
