How effective do you believe sinopharm will be against Delta? Bear in mind Delta has mutated and a new strain called Delta plus is now spreading

Honestly I know that Sinopharm is not the best. But if they are not selling the better vaccines to us, are we suppose to die until they have pity on us and sell it?

Jamaica and Barbados will soon be on the UK green list while Rowlee have us ranking with Zimbabwe and those failed other Covid countries

Getting the virus is not an automatic route to immunity.
Last week the son of one of my friends, a doctor in the TRHA and he was diagnosed for a 2nd time with Covid.

Earlier this year an article on BBC
This is not guaranteed and that is why the World Health Organization is nervous about countries using immunity passports as a way out of lockdown.
The idea is if you pass the antibody test then you are safe to go back to work. This would be particularly valuable for staff in care homes or hospitals who come into contact with those at risk of developing severe symptoms.
But while you will find some antibodies in nearly every patient, not all are equal. Neutralising antibodies are the ones that stick to the coronavirus and are able to stop it infecting other cells. A study of 175 recovered patients in China showed 30% had very low levels of these neutralising antibodies.
That is why the World Health Organization says "that cellular immunity [the other part of the adaptive response] may also be critical for recovery".
Another issue is that just because you might be protected by your antibodies, it doesn't mean you cannot still harbour the virus and pass it onto others.

there's a strong possibility those vaccines could backfire if the lesser efficacy isn't publicized. Places like Chile or that island chain in the pacific are getting ridiculous COVID spikes because the population wasn't aware those particular vaccines aren't all that protective and they still need to follow the non-medical interventions (masks, social distancing) in their day to day life.

I legit believe we could get a massive spike if they choose to re-open schools in September or try to hold the MOAC (mother of all Carnivals) on the back of Sinopharm. It's a good product but the public communication from the government needs to acknowledge the lesser effectiveness.

Depends if you survive.
I know people personally - young (<35), no comorbidities, very active/sports. 2 have died within a couple weeks. 2 have recovered with severe lung impairment. One of my cycling buddies at his worst in the covid hospital was down to about 25% lung capacity.

Flip a coin and make that choice. Stay safe, peeps.

Guess the J&J vaccines (if we actually get them) might end up being the backup to the Sinopharm...

Definitely, I was even suggesting we give Astrazeneca to all persons over 60 and use the Sinopharm for those below 60. Instead we went the other way which leads to more Astrazeneca VITT and lower vaccine efficacy older folks.

Sigh, common sense not too common I guess

You can get reinfected if you had Covid before.
The immune response to the vaccine is much better
https://www.healthline.com/health-news/ ... d-covid-19

Also we have no idea what the long term effects of Covid are. People who got chickenpox from the varicella zoster virus develop shingles later on in life. It’s very painful.
It’s not a good idea to try to get the virus in an attempt to build an immunity to it.

Well if Sinopharm backfires we will deal with it then, but is the best thing we do right now.

The AG said the next Carnival will be the mother of all carnivals, he didn't say Carnival 2022. Although, we know he would like that to be so.

And our low birth rate is another crisis that nobody speaks about. Ideally, children fair best in a planned, married home but we need to increase our birth rate. The Venes buying us some more time, but during covid our birth rate dipped too low.

Wat are you an idiot?

It is best we have a low birth rate. Jobs is an issue in this country and well paying jobs , not those 1% store clerks and waiters .

Then again we don't want a repeat of pest born to rob and kill us from those people that support the red government.

ie those people that say "my son is a good boy" These are the pest we don't want born.

Again Marriage is another Con job , outdated and is a bad for men.
