Should ahve started already:

Trinidad and Tobago start this weekend's Twenty20 for 50 Cricket Festival as favourites to walk away with the US$20,000 first prize, but Brian Lara, Daren Ganga and Tamar Lambert—captains of the three other teams in the competition—have all promised they will do everything in their power to prevent that from happening.
Lara and Ganga will captain two All Star squads while Lambert skippers Jamaica in the three-day tournament, which takes place at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain.
The tournament bowls off today, with T&T, led by Denesh Ramdin, taking on the Brian Lara All Star team in the feature 7 p.m. match, while Jamaica and the Daren Ganga All Star team clash in the 2:30 p.m. fixture.

I didn't understand it at first but a press release from IPL stated that this is club cricket not cricket to represent your country. That being the case club contracts would stand.

You can't really blame them.Their IPL clubs are guaranteed to be there every year whereas Trinidad is not. They may play this year for the red force but what happens if they don't make it next year or subsequent to that?In fact Trinidad not even sure to make it fully to the competition if they still in a playoff before the tournament begins.
Aside from that I think it's also pressure from the IPL bigwigs. There's a long BBM convo between Pollard and an official from the IPL floating around the net.
Besides the only man we really missing is Narine.Bravo saves runs with fielding but gives away more with his bowling of late and his batting not too consistent.Pollard is not consistent in that he'll give you one or three decent innings out of ten,the rest being failures.
