JERUSALEM, Nov 13 (Reuters) - The Israeli military shared video and photographs on Monday showing what it said were weapons stored by Hamas in the basement of a children's hospital in Gaza where it also said hostages appear to have been held.
Military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said troops had found a command centre with an armoury of weapons including grenades, suicide vests and other explosives stored by Hamas fighters in the basement of Rantissi Hospital, a paediatric hospital with a specialty in treating cancer patients.
"And we also found signs that indicate that Hamas held hostages here," he told a televised briefing. "This is currently under our investigation. But we also have intelligence that verifies it."
He showed footage of what appeared to be rudimentary living quarters, including a small kitchen, as well as a nearby tunnel shaft which he said led to the house of a senior Hamas naval commander.
"Hamas took all this area under its control and conducted its war against Israelis from this hospital," he said.

I have been advocating for this since my visit in 2015.
Israel puts down their weapons, Hamas capitalizes and kills more Jews.
It's easy to say protect the innocents, but how do you differentiate between a civilian and a Hamas fighter? They don't wear a uniform indicating they're a Hamas fighter.

EU nations said in a statement they join “calls for immediate pauses in hostilities and the establishment of humanitarian corridors, including through increased capacity at border crossings and through a dedicated maritime route, so that humanitarian aid can safely reach the population of Gaza.”
And they reiterated their “call on Hamas for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages. It is crucial that the International Committee of the Red Cross is granted access to the hostages.”
And as a key tenet, it said that “the EU condemns the use of hospitals and civilians as human shields by Hamas.”
Latvian Foreign Minister Krisjanis Karins said that “Hamas is unfortunately using civilian infrastructure and civilians as shields against the Israel Defense Forces. So the situation (is) absolutely not black and white.”
Israel says Hamas shields itself among civilians in hospitals, and that Gaza City’s largest Shifa Hospital is a prime example of that. Israel claims the militants have a command center in and beneath the medical compound. It has not provided photos or videos to back up its claims though it has shared footage of militants operating in residential neighborhoods and positioning rockets and weapons near schools and mosques.
Hamas, which is considered a terrorist organization by the EU, accused Borrell of distorting facts. It described his comments as a “cover-up” for Israel to “to commit more crimes against children and defenseless civilians.” Hamas called on Borrell to reverse his “outrageous and inhuman comments.”
The EU nations stopped short of calling for a cease-fire.

Is there any evidence of that or mere hearsay? The independent journalist have stated that they are unsure of Israeli hostages taken by presumably Hamas fighters.adnj wrote:Ironically, you failed to mention the Israelis being held captive in Gaza.Jerry84 wrote:Currently the death toll due to bombings is as follows:

No food, water or medical supplies. Children and civilians who die from starvation, dehydration or lack of medical attention are not included in the death toll.
All because of Hamas? So the most advanced army in the world cannot find a handful of Hamas rebel fighters in a caged city?
And has chosen to target not only Gaza but West Bank as well? And gave the people the opportunity to move to Egypt but once they accumulated at the boarder (Rafa Crossing), bombed them continuously killing hundreds?
Even went as far as allowing ambulances to come in to remove those Injured and killed the medical personnel? And what about bombing the hospitals, churches, mosques, temples, residential buildings??? And they still using the excuse of Hamas fighters?
Imagine all this for a few Hamas fighters. The excuse of Hamas being responsible is baseless for the mass killings, period.
And if they are being held hostage in Gaza, which is currently being bombed day and night, then they are probably dead due to their own Israeli forces and their wanton attack on the cities which have been reduced to dust.adnj wrote:Ironically, you failed to mention the Israelis being held captive in Gaza.Jerry84 wrote:Currently the death toll due to bombings is as follows:

CAIRO, Nov 13 (Reuters) - The armed wing of the Palestinian militant group Hamas said on Monday it told Qatari mediators the group was ready to release up to 70 women and children held in Gaza in return for a five-day truce with Israel.
"Last week there was an effort from the Qatari brothers to release the enemy captives from women and children, in return for the release of 200 Palestinian children and 75 women detained by the enemy" Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for the armed wing of Hamas, al-Qassam Brigades, said in an audio recording posted on the group's Telegram channel.
"The truce should include a complete ceasefire and allow aid and humanitarian relief everywhere in the Gaza Strip," he said.
He accused Israel of "procrastinating and evading" the price of the deal.

Jews view the lives of Palestinians as less than human. Therefore, Israel should release all Palestinians held in prison for the hostages.
Hamas is another case of "weapons of mass destruction " nothing was found, and a nation destroyed for nothing,Jerry84 wrote:Prior to October 7th, Israel controlled Gaza, West Bank etc. After October 7th, Israel controlled the world.
If there is hell on earth then it is Gaza. Think of that. No humanity.
Gilard Erdan have said in the UN conference a few says ago that they have information that Hamas is everywhere, the only category of people speared were the babies.
No Hamas in the West Bank but they killing Palestinians daily.
Make it make sense.
