So funeral homes make a killing last year then no pun intended.
575 illegal deaths is alot. Imagine how many legal deaths occurred.( Natural Causes).

Around 12,000. That's the annual average up to around 2018

That's alot of deaths.

To anyone who claims a HUGE decline in the murder rate, should consider that the two months Jul-2022 and October 2022 were ABNORMALLY high (i.e., they were outliers). If you normalize them to about 45, you'll see that there is no significant improvement in the murder rate. In fact, it's probably still slightly increasing.

One should be asking what caused that blood-bath in 2022.

Our crude death rate is 9 per 100,000 which is also the average rate for middle income countries. The average for high income countries is actually 10 (could be b/c large parts of Europe are aging with low birth rates and a smaller younger population relatively speaking)

is a few funeral homes does do most of them gangster funerals
if the gangs were smart they would go into that business just like how they have competing music

Funeral business might be harder for them. Too competitive.
Easier to get government contracts.

Allyuh really have no idea about some of these big funeral home owners yes. Business just long term and regularized now.

A Valsayn businesswoman was one of four people murdered in an afternoon shooting on the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway today.

Sources said Lana Sahadeo was at her Spring Village, Valsayn, home when the shooting began and was struck by a stray bullet.

Guardian Media visited the scene and was told by neighbours that Sahadeo who was in her fifties was the owner of the Silver Spoons Eatery in Akal Trace.

She was expected to leave TT days later to go on a trip to Florida.

Security camera footage of the shooting was circulated on social media which showed a white car crashing into a barrier at the side of the highway.

One of the men who were in the car at the time was shot and killed while the others were chased by gunmen and killed.

The survivor of the attack was a popular Trinibad artiste who survived another shooting in October.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details come to hand.
