Whats your NAT Type?

Should be set to open.

Make sure your PS3 is properly set up for online gaming. Check the tutorials on youtube.

there were many posts here with people having difficulty to get their 360 online. the ps3 is easy to set up online and get an open nat type. just read and follow the instructions

try this
getting an open nat type used to be hit or miss, but that got fixed with the latest patch
so its always open once you set it up right
forward ports or put the ps3 in DMZ
rodfarva wrote:^^ yup, I did it.
I also forwarded psn and black ops ports on my router.
http://www.portforward.com
there are two sets of ports (one for psn and one set for blackops)

Give the ps3 a static ip on your network.

You can also reserve the IP you set for your ps3 on your router in its User Interface (usually accessed through 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1)

the DNS servers he used in the video are from openDNS.com
Theyre pretty good.

Anyway, using this, my nat type is now open, and we did get much better connections to games last night than in the past.

You can also give your ps3 unrestricted access to the net by setting it as a DMZ (demilitarized zone) but I dont see the need for it if you forward the right ports

If you dont know how to assign a static IP to your PS3 you can try this (I never tried it)
http://portforward.com/help/setup_static_ip_address.htm

if we all get this done, I'm pretty sure we will have less of a problem getting into games and pwning

black ops is going to prove to be a tad bit annoying with having to go through all this "bachanal" to unlock the pro version of all those bloody perks again, not to mention having to start over with COD points :|

most pro perks are very easy to unlock.
Plus they reward with a good bit of XP.

when i 1st prestige I had my main load out pro-ed by level 20. Small thing.

Also when you figure out what gun combination works for you, you will be swimming in cash.

like the famas as well with the launcher attachment for crowds, i actually enjoying Blops much more than i thought i would and the single player campaign has more action in the first 30mins than the entire MW2 single player campaign!
