No hospital care

More deaths due to less hospital care. Doctors etc become overworked resulting in errors etc in quality care and also lapse in judgement that could result in them being infected and carrying the virus back home.

A hospital full with patients also mean that there is greater risks lf contracting the virus. Simply walking down a corridor might get you infected with covid because the chances of interacting with a patient may be high. This has other consequences such as need for greater ppe, medication etc.

we didnt study where the people contracted the covid from. as said previously, our mentality is 'look people, they spreading covid'.
that not harmful, except when u use that to justify closing down businesses.
we also have to consider people need an income.

so, because outdoor activity will not increase covid, banning it will not decrease covid, people still need to do business, simply allow spaces for people to do thier businesses outdoors in open air with tents, who ever can do that business so.

and by pulling people outdoors, u limit indoor time, whcih IS THE WAY TO STOP THE SPREAD

I have been saying this for weeks or months now.

What annoys me is people bad talking people lining up, social-spaced buying doubles. What they doing wrong?

They all following protocols and they're helping the local economy and at least helping their mental health a bit by getting out. And even if they wear their masks wrongly, the outdoor spread of covid is very very unlikely.

Imagine, this annoying ass chick on Facebook continuously posting about people 'jackassing the scene'. Yet she in the office every day wearing no mask, posing for selfies with people in the office.

All those things are still risks theoretically. Covid protocols are there to decrease risks and not eliminate it so they are still at risks. Plain talk bad manners in the middle of a pandemic you shouldn't be doing anything unnecessarily risky. So basically work and home or work and "essentials".

Any activity that could be regarded as a luxury should be avoided.
Well laymen feeling that we will overburden the hopitals in 10 days time even with lockdown ..so that is ah shakeup.

is when rowley send out teh signal, ' palance for easter' it trip off the thing. since the roll back of restrictions after the election spike, people did the same thing more or less, numbers were low.
numbers bumped a lil after christmas/ ole years, and that was expected. as soon as it might have dipped back, the school reopening gave a lil bump.
u got some ting for carnival, still acceptable. but when he say, easter is it, unless sumting else went on that we didnt know about, that make people over crowd up in enclosed spaces. u saw the 1% wedding, adn there is talk that the pnm financiers flying in and out the country like normal.

people was doing it right for the longest while. but sumting happen, and is not doubles line and grocery shopping, cause that was the same since last year september.

Yup all permanent secretarys msging their staff to say to report to work.
Imagine ministry of tourism classified their staff as essential.
Honestly best thing to happen is the cases continue to go up and crash the health sector.

Only then people might change their attitude. Otherwise its business as usual

becomes a real mess at this point, just like in regular casuality ward
bunch of sick ppl sitting around WITH their family and friends giving support and likely to be a spreader environment
if you see how bad it is in India, all the relatives with their sick folks surely infected or getting infected in their hospitals

This 100x

Why is it accountants, IT, admin staff and many other office works being made essential? ALL of them can do their work remotely.

You want to really stop cases? Send home all staff to work from home, those who can't will be deemed essential.

Instead you focusing your attention on people lining up for doubles and blaming them, when 99% of the covid spread occurs indoors.

Big numbers coming later in the week. Tests done in the last few days were the highest ever and those results will start coming in from tomorrow. Meanwhile positivity rate is going up as well.

What does it mean when a healthcare system 'collapses'?

It's a word used liberally to describe healthcare systems struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic. But what does 'collapse' look like? And has the pandemic brought the world's most vital resource to the brink?

Current bed occupancy is at 260 as of today
A net intake of 24 persons per day for the next 10 days will fill the parallel health system to capacity.
Just to put that into perspective, yesterday a net intake of 45 persons occurred while a net intake of 31 persons occurred today.
And Monday's are usually slow.
Brace yourselves because Trinidad bout to go through some serious she!t when the parallel health system becomes overwhelmed this week.

serious tho, it has to be a SoE to get the Law Association and all them other concerned crunts to do the responsible thing and shut up and let the police do what needs to be done with respect to gatherings on private property.

It appears that you're crediting KPB with Manning's invention. He declared a SOE limited only to POS to arrest then House Speaker Occah Seapaul in August 1995. Ollour youths eh!

Number of positive cases last Thursday was 328 and last Friday 326.
Locking down last Thursday was too late.
That decision was supposed to be made last Monday. I feel the worst is yet to happen to the health care system.
Our professionals monitoring the system may have acted a few days to late.

As I was warning, what happening in brazil is now happening here, thanks to the P1 variant.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr Roshan Parasram has announced that younger persons without comorbidities have recently died from Covid-19.
Dr Parasram made the statement at the Prime Minister’s media conference held today (Monday 03 May, 2021) at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann's.
Dr Parasram said, “We did see a couple deaths in younger people - one in the 30's, a couple in the 40’s without comorbidities in the last few days - which is a worrying trend and it is a concern.”
While testing to confirm if these deaths have been linked to the P1 variant (Brazilian variant) is still to be done, Dr Parasram said the variant which is said to be 1.5 to 2.5 times more transmissible, certainly has a role to play in the increasing number of Covid-19 cases reported.
He said, “what we are seeing is increasing viral loads of persons, meaning they have a higher viral load, and a lot of times, they have less symptoms in the early stages”.
He said this is a recipe for quicker spread as it causes the virus to move through a population much faster.
Dr Parasram also revealed that the Ministry of Health is reporting 10 additional cases of the variant, which were detected among samples from across the country. This brings the total number of positive samples for the P1 variant to 25.

The last year people being told to wear masks and they didn’t over the last few months and the P1 variant snuck in and we might be heading for field hospitals which jamaica at one point was aiming towards . Basic summary .

more beds is one thing, what about the staff for all these exponentially larger amount of patients? some of them also have to deal with vaccination too

perhaps private sector healthcare staff as well as army medics need to come to the rescue
