Well laymen feeling that we will overburden the hopitals in 10 days time even with lockdown ..so that is ah shakeup.Redress10 wrote:Dohplaydat wrote:sMASH wrote:nope, u dont NEEED that. the spread is MINIMAL outdoors. so much so that the peopel that STUDIED covid transmission still suggest to use masks, ONLY when u have to interact. in other words, banning outdoor activity will not reduce infections.
we didnt study where the people contracted the covid from. as said previously, our mentality is 'look people, they spreading covid'.
that not harmful, except when u use that to justify closing down businesses.
we also have to consider people need an income.
so, because outdoor activity will not increase covid, banning it will not decrease covid, people still need to do business, simply allow spaces for people to do thier businesses outdoors in open air with tents, who ever can do that business so.
and by pulling people outdoors, u limit indoor time, whcih IS THE WAY TO STOP THE SPREAD
I have been saying this for weeks or months now.
What annoys me is people bad talking people lining up, social-spaced buying doubles. What they doing wrong?
They all following protocols and they're helping the local economy and at least helping their mental health a bit by getting out. And even if they wear their masks wrongly, the outdoor spread of covid is very very unlikely.
Imagine, this annoying ass chick on Facebook continuously posting about people 'jackassing the scene'. Yet she in the office every day wearing no mask, posing for selfies with people in the office.
All those things are still risks theoretically. Covid protocols are there to decrease risks and not eliminate it so they are still at risks. Plain talk bad manners in the middle of a pandemic you shouldn't be doing anything unnecessarily risky. So basically work and home or work and "essentials".
Any activity that could be regarded as a luxury should be avoided.

Honestly best thing to happen is the cases continue to go up and crash the health sector.
Only then people might change their attitude. Otherwise its business as usualStrugglerzinc wrote:death365 wrote:Iz meh people ah talking bout... So ah kno..

At least it won't be called that
Kamla made a new invention called "a limited SoE in hotspot areas only," which turned out not to be limited or in hotspot areas only.
serious tho, it has to be a SoE to get the Law Association and all them other concerned crunts to do the responsible thing and shut up and let the police do what needs to be done with respect to gatherings on private property.
So why they didnt predict this with the numbers to do the lockdown in advance?wtf wrote:Current bed occupancy is at 260 as of today
A net intake of 24 persons per day for the next 10 days will fill the parallel health system to capacity.
Just to put that into perspective, yesterday a net intake of 45 persons occurred while a net intake of 31 persons occurred today.
And Monday's are usually slow.
Brace yourselves because Trinidad bout to go through some serious she!t when the parallel health system becomes overwhelmed this week.
Number of positive cases last Thursday was 328 and last Friday 326.aaron17 wrote:So why they didnt predict this with the numbers to do the lockdown in advance?wtf wrote:Current bed occupancy is at 260 as of today

Locking down last Thursday was too late.
That decision was supposed to be made last Monday. I feel the worst is yet to happen to the health care system.
Our professionals monitoring the system may have acted a few days to late.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr Roshan Parasram has announced that younger persons without comorbidities have recently died from Covid-19.
Dr Parasram made the statement at the Prime Minister’s media conference held today (Monday 03 May, 2021) at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann's.
Dr Parasram said, “We did see a couple deaths in younger people - one in the 30's, a couple in the 40’s without comorbidities in the last few days - which is a worrying trend and it is a concern.”
While testing to confirm if these deaths have been linked to the P1 variant (Brazilian variant) is still to be done, Dr Parasram said the variant which is said to be 1.5 to 2.5 times more transmissible, certainly has a role to play in the increasing number of Covid-19 cases reported.
He said, “what we are seeing is increasing viral loads of persons, meaning they have a higher viral load, and a lot of times, they have less symptoms in the early stages”.
He said this is a recipe for quicker spread as it causes the virus to move through a population much faster.
Dr Parasram also revealed that the Ministry of Health is reporting 10 additional cases of the variant, which were detected among samples from across the country. This brings the total number of positive samples for the P1 variant to 25.
