based on 'trinidad street news' ?

Nah not that sheit, lol. But I have been told some workers got their letters already.

Nobody has shown any proof of this beyond Whatsapp voice note and sketchy messages like above.

It is coming, confirmed it with a Minister, just don't know the details yet as he didn't confirm that, just that a curfew is starting on Tuesday.

Boss man, what curfew you confirm again? Your minister set we up with all the essential letters he give out. They kick him off the conference or what?

When will people learn that the red government has failed. Their bank accounts fat while citizens suffer. How many more government kids going to be flying in and out of Trini at will

I wouldn't doubt if they really did consider it and put things in place as an absolute last resort, granted these measures don't work.

again, dumb measures, as the same number of people have to eat, and have thigns to do, so they forcing the same number of people to utilize a reduced number of outlets. thus inducing the thing u sought to prevent.

as someone else pointed out in a white man country; if u close restaurants, u force people to cook so they have to go to the grocery. if u close the grocery, u force people to buy, so all go to restaurants. but if u leave all open then the people can spread out as can be.

dumb govt, is dumb.

when it comes to street food/restaurants u have to line up for EVERY meal, with the grocery u only have to line up once and that could give u several meals. so u might see an initial surge in grocery lines but once they buy enough as far as their fridge and cupboard cud hold they don't need to come back for several days.

with street/restaurant food u have to line up everyday.

besides u still need toiletries and other stuff in d grocery anyway so u would still be going there.

Key Points from Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley’s Media Conference on COVID-19 – Monday May 3rd, 2021.

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley announced that from midnight tonight:
- All food service, including street food, will be discontinued at this time.
- All non-essential retail business will be discontinued at this time.

Essential services, such as groceries, pharmacies, financial services, transportation, farming, hardware stores, will remain open. However, restrictions in operating hours will apply (6am to 8pm where applicable).

The manufacturing sector remains open at this time.

The social support system will continue (Senior Citizens Grant etc.)
- $5 million will be allocated for food support (boxes etc.) for this month.
- $10 million will be provided to religious groups to dispense to the needy in their communities this month.

The Prime Minister announced these changes after meeting with senior health officials. He acknowledged there will be "losses to the quality of life" due to these new restrictions but he assured that "all has not fallen down" as the Government has gone beyond what many others around the world have done in providing support to its citizens.

The Prime Minister is optimistic that these new changes will be reflected in lower COVID-19 numbers at the end of the month.

Earlier, Epidemiologist Dr. Avery Hinds warned that T&T is on track to have more than 10,000 Active COVID-19 Cases by May 22nd. This means that hospital capacity will be maximised shortly. Dr. Hinds noted from the data that more women are contracting COVID-19 and there is an increasing number of deaths in the younger age groups (40s, 50s, and 60s)

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Roshan Parasram said the P1 (Brazil) Variant has a role to play in the high number of COVID cases since there is “quicker spread” and it is “hitting harder.” He noted that younger people without co-morbidities who contract this strain are dying (one person in their 30s, some in 40s).

Principal Medical Officer, Dr. Maryam Abdool-Richards, confirmed that the parallel health system has 260 COVID-19 patients, and again noted that the number of persons being admitted to hospitals for COVID-19 far exceeds those being discharged. She said T&T is at a "tipping point" in terms of hospital occupancy and urged citizens to follow the health protocols as limited hospital resources are being expended and this could compromise the quality of health care in other areas.

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh warned that there are only 10 days left before the parallel health system becomes overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients. He said no one with COVID-19 will be housed in the traditional hospital system.

A lot more positives coming in.....we had 3591 cases reportedly done, that's the private lab batch. Last week it was 3295.

Overall, testing is going up and positivity rate going up. We are hitting a 400+ day this week.

It should.

Fewer people out and about means lower rates of interaction and thus lower rates transmitted.

heard about it, tried it... nat fer me, pallie... hoooo, that a lil to rough.

but still u buy groceries less than buy food, with street food, u reduce the times u go to groceries, as well sustain incomes.
i am not for indoor dining. keep every thing out door, open air.

covid spreads indoors, out door transimission is minimal. so u would have less transmissions if u close groceries and only allowed outdoor retail, for the sheer fact that its out doors, rather than the opposite of only having groceries open. cause the few times u do go to a grocery, because its indoors, its 20 times more likely to spread there.

the keep as much things out doors as u can. keep the incomes rolling, and the transimissions down.

Alternatives have already gone. The public was fooled ever since restrictions was lifted on the bobol for elections. Just before elections the red govement ppl was praising Rowlair for a job well done. I hope they praise him the same way now

This the price we are paying since Carnival last year. Total failure.
