Patriotic Front names 7 candidates for general election

THE Patriotic Front, led by Mickela Panday, has announced seven candidates for the 2025 general election.

In May 2024, Panday said the party will contest all 41 seats.

In a media release on February 9, the Patriotic Front said it was proud to announce its first batch of "strong and dedicated" candidates who are "ready to serve the people of Trinidad and Tobago with integrity and action."

The party said the candidates are all "leaders who will fight for real change, not exchange, for a TT that works for everyone."

The Patriotic Front will takie its fight to Tobago with Aretha Paula Clarke contesting the Tobago West constituency.

Also on the party's election slate are Anita Margaret Hankey (Malabar/Mausica), Thelston Jagoo (Claxton Bay), Sacha Mangroo (Princes Town), Kenrick Serrette (San Fernando East), Valene Teelucksingh (Cumuto/Manzanilla) and Elizabeth Wharton (Toco/Sangre Grande).

congrats to them. Just checking the names, more than 70% of the PF candidates are women, a milestone in itself from a diversity, equity and inclusion perspective.

Really great to see candidates from all genders, race, age, ethnicity, geography, etc coming together to lose their deposits

ANOTHER PEOPLE'S PARTNERSHIP?

Political Leader of the United National Congress (UNC) Kamla Persad-Bissessar has announced that a “Coalition of Interest” has been formed. She spoke on Tuesday at the UNC headquarters in Chaguanas.

The UNC will be joining forces with the LOVE movement led by Lennox Smith, the Progressive Empowerment Party (PEP) led by Phillip Edward Alexander, and the Oilfield Workers Trade Union (OWTU) headed by president general Ancel Roget and other unions to contest the 2025 General Election.

What a joke. All those parties and unions together won't even make up 1% of the voting public. Looks like another PNM victory!

You'd like to think after 10 years, the opposition would be more organized by now.

Such a disorganized, sloppy, unattractive, sorry excuse for a "serious" party trying to get back into power.

Surprised I eh hearing no cries to call de election now.

Shitty in govt, even shittier in Opposition. Feel sorry for OGs like death365

Imagine talking like this meanwhile the PNM themselves are not even a well oiled machine. I'm pretty sure if you ask Mero how has pnm benefitted the ppl for the ten years in power he can't answer you. Coming from the guy who said even he believes doesn't PNM deserve another term in power but cannot reveal the reason due to shame
