Unless specified on your insurance coverage, "acts of god" are not normally covered. So even fully comp people may not get anything.

I don’t think your 100% accurate here. Third party polices are just that... they cover the insured’s liability to people other than the insured. As for comprehensive polices the usually cover a range of named perils inclusive of “Flood”. Each policy will have its own criteria of what equates to flood (especially for household or property insurance). Each person should check their policy’s or speak with their insurance providers for more definitive answers.

The only way I could see a flood not being covered under a comprehensive policy is it if was specifically taken out of the insurance cover by the Insured or the agent to save on premium.

Consistent stop-go weather in the Maloney-ish area for the last hour or so.

This was done previously by an Agent and I had fully comprehensive insurance resulting in vehicle not being covered for flood.

Recommendation is to ask and verify your fine print

Traffic is currently flowing freely on the Uriah Butler Highway. Police are present at all points of the highway still affected by the flood to give motorists direction.

Please stop trying to defend this administration!

its even worse that the odpm made such a stupid statement about it going to coast a lot of money before even showing an ounce of compassion for victims!
just goes to show the type of idiotic fools in positions of power in our country right now.

I may have missed it, but really havn't heard any out-pouring of support from our regional 'friends'.
We don't expect much but even utterances of sympathy or a few people to help would be nice.
Again, I say, I might have missed it.
I am proud of my people and the spirit of community demonstrated, T&T is made up of champion stuff.
Sadly, the Army and Coastguard with all their polished equipment used for Independence parades just aint seem to want to get too dirty.
In the 80's there was a real serious flooding event and boy the army, coastguard and others went to work like 'bats outa hell', helicopter evacuations was a sight to behold, just don't know what happen this time.
