For all the crap you can blame them for, Trinis have handled this entire pandemic and all the sudden restrictions and difficulties stoically and with something bordering on class that they’ve never been given credit for.
By THEIR actions the people of this country put the Covid19 genie back in the bottle, and Keith Rowley and Faris and the rest of this political liability we have as a government did everything they could to let it out again, from lavish weddings to armwrestling stunts to Tobago Easter Carnivals.
Perhaps if Gary and the TTPS had kicked down the gate to the wanna be big shot wedding or filmed Faris and Voice and Inspector Alexander face down handcuffed like zessers we could say the system is working, we all in this together.
But we’re not.
And that is why the people are chafing at these new restrictions.
Add to that the failure of the government to understand that the tens of thousands of working poor you sent home without a plan as to how they are going to feed themselves and their children has turned this nation into a powder keg, and we need to recognize that and talk about it as a matter of national urgency.
There are some who are going to die, not from Covid, but from making decisions redirecting scarce medicine money for the elderly to buy food to fill hungry tummies of children and babies.
This PNM government has failed spectacularly at stewarding the country long before Covid gave them a chance to add a flourish and a bow, and it is time we had the conversation about what to do about that, the real pandemic destroying Trinidad & Tobago.
My suggestion is that we unite, ALL of us, and take every legal, lawful step to fire them.
This morning our economy should be wide open.
Instead, because of the needs of the drug traffickers using our country to ply their eleven billion US per year trade our borders are as porous as a sponge.
Ask the stunt artist who had the audacity to lecture this nation like children on Thursday why that might be so.
Ask him where’s the Coast Guard and the thirty plus boats we own.
Ask where’s the Air Guard and the twenty helicopters.
Where is the eight thousand strong army we are paying for every day.
Ask why a border of a nation this tiny is difficult for them to secure.
And then explain to me how we come to have over one hundred thousand plus illegal Venezuelans including Keith’s ‘hoes’ living among us.
You could vex for what you want this morning, just make sure you direct it to the source.
Keith Christopher Rowley and his hapless band of clueless incompetents foisted on this nation by a broken and corrupted electoral system and years of using state funds to buy the votes of those kept broken, poor and desperate.
Trinidad & Tobago is locked down today because of the failure of a dishonest Prime Minister and he should be shamed for having the brass balls to try to put the blame on anyone else.
In a grown up nation he would be fired for all of that.
Perhaps it’s time we grew up.
